Played Morrowind, Oblivion, KOTOR, Witcher 1 (yet to play 2 probably wont run on my laptop), ME 1 and 2, FO 3 if you were planning on suggestin thosee

Overall looking for a good western style RPG to waste some hours with.

if you have a ps2 and dont mind an awesome sidescrolling platform RPG, check out odin sphere or grim gramoire. I haven't played grim gramoire yet but odin sphere was great. good story, good depth but not overly complicated. difficulty was in the middle so it was perfect for me. at least 20 to 30 hours of gameplay.

You've played Fallout3 &/or New Vegas, right? And speaking of Bethsoft's earlier titles...have you tried modding either Morrowind or Oblivion? There's a TON of 3rd-party mods available for each, as well as FO3. You'll need a couple of tools to do it properly, but it's wholly possible to build up a full-custom game, especially with MW.

There's a demo of Dungeon Siege lll up on Steam now also, and the game itself just came out.

And Borderlands is addictive, even tho I agree about the wimp'ish ending - good mix of RPG and shooter stuff.

Bladur's Gate, and Deus Ex and you're set for the next year. The Elder Scrolls mods are also wicked fun.

As much as I loved the B/G games then (and I did!), I don't have the patience for the slow'ish char movements now - I tried playing both I and II last year and ended up uninstalling each after about three days. These days, my go-to game(s) in new-game dry spells are a SERIOUSLY-modded BethSoft title...I'm already planning a Morrowind re-install after I upgrade to 7.

And am I the only one who thought that Icewind Dale sucked?

Played Darksiders for maybe an hour and ahalf yesterday? I'm at some fucking endless puzzle bullshit. I JUST WANNA KILLLLLLL! I think lots of killing is coming up though.

Everyone I know has said that Deus Ex is one of THE best games, period. The now-dated graphics engine seems to be the only knock against it. I've somehow not played it myself, but it also is in the after-upgrade list. Bonus for it being at a bargain price now.

You could probably take out the "one of" even. For serious. Buy it, download it, whatever. If your computer is under like 8 years old, you can run it.

Minus that stupid hilite thing the new one looks like it's going to be uhmazing.
