That custom shifter sounds great.
It was fun to make for sure. Sowing is not easy but god damn it looks good lol.

For me I recycle a lot of stuff. Even wrong parts that I bought. I bought these "universal" spark plug wire organizers with adjustable tracks that have brackets that fit HEMI valve covers and other mounting gear that fits every small block under the sun and well.....not if you have edelbrock 4262 covers. So instead of spending more money and buying another product and having to sell the wrong ones, I ended up modifying them to fit by bending the HEMI brackets a certain way and installing them backwards so they clear the manifolds.

They ended up sitting flush with the top of the valve covers, so I angled them to have the same slope as the valve covers themselves. It looks real clean IMO. I know for a fact I'll never come across another car with the same setup to organize wires. Born out of a mistake.

Had this old water pump I bought used and leaked all over the place, so instead of throwing it out I just bolted a circular steel plate to the fan pulley and hot-glued a mirror on top. Now it's a kick ass rotating Hot Wheels display. Actually I still have to find a small motor for it and find a way to cram it in the casing along with some batteries.

I picked up so much junk I didn't need in junkyards just to dick around with it in the shop. I don't always go there for my car, sometimes I just have an idea and need to see a bunch of rando parts to get the gears going up there.

Cars are a lot of work but man is it rewarding. I'll try to snap a couple pictures of the shifter tonight.

I just saw a truck with "GODZHEMI" as the plate and, in big letters across the back window, "WASHED IN THE BLOOD OF CHRIST".

It's no "Jesus Built my Hotrod", that's for sure.

while driving up to DC the other day i passed a car dealer who apparently specializes in "classic cars." they had a really striking unit there, a mid-60s Sox and Martin super-stock midsized Chrysler Corp. in full regalia with a huge silver carb box on the hood. i'm 95% sure it was a retro-mod since i doubt a real one would somehow have landed in Culpepper, VA a half-century later in immaculate condition, but it was pretty fucking boss.

Ok, I need an advice and his seems the appropriate thread.
Would you guys spend something like 1200€ to properly repair a car (with 110000miles on its back) that you've been repairing at least once a year for the last 4 years, or would you rather spend 200€ to make it work in the worst conditions for some months and then find a new vehicle?
I'm fucking TIRED of doing this every 8/12 months, and at this point I don't really think it's worth it.

1. What kind of car? Newer computer stuff? Older mechanical stuff? (I'm talking suspension, engine, etc)
2. Make model year I guess? Probably better than the first question.
3. What kind of car do you want or need? Like really need? Just something to get you around? Does your car meet all your needs outside of being somewhat of a lemon? What is your price range?

110000 miles isn't that much really. Modern cars should go far beyond that without a rebuild. Even old cars can hit 300k if lucky.

If you are paying 1200 euro every year or so, I think there is a larger problem not being addressed, the shops are screwing around, or you just got a lemon. 200 just to make it work vs 1200 for a proper fix seems odd. Some repairs aren't all that bad if you do it yourself. Rebuilding a modern transmission...maybe not, but replacing sensors or computers is possible (unless they need a special extra programmer or something).

What is the actual problems and what were the earlier problems?

I don't know the laws in Italy for car modifications/emissions...could this be a component of the fix (meaning it has to be checked out by authorities like some repairs in Germany)? Do you have weather that wears out cars (snow, flooding)?

Need more details.
