MN gets a bit cold whenever I do have to play outside, such as for the Christmas City of the North Parade. Metal is not the optimal thing to touch without gloves during that time. I used to have that weirdo shaped Kramer aluminum neck bass last year, kinda like this one but black. Very cool sounding instruments.

Very cool indeed!
Rainy from Discharge uses a silver sparkle one... and he is fukkin awesome!!

Nice!
Unwanted GAS for ZVex stuff...specifically LoFi Loop Junky, Wah Probe, and Fuzz Factory...

I think I can help with this.
Don't waste your time with the wah probe--theramin pedals are kitschy and some how less intuative, fuzz factory clones are generally better (and cheaper), and the loopjunky is cool, but a Capistan would probably be much better in that price ranger.

Had an El Cap; liked the looper a lot (especially considering you could actually overdub) but it acted funky with my AC15C1. Lots of buzz, which surprised me. Perhaps I had a dud?
The criticism of the Wah Probe is probably right. I tried a Fuzz Probe a while ago and didn't think much of it, but I really like the concept for a wah. We'll see about this one.
Any Fuzz Factory clones you recommend?

I'm not really sure if anyone that has one as a standard in their line, but if you want one built for a good price, I would turn to Rygot. Ryry's a super cool dude, will put pretty much any graphic you want on it, and is cool with performing all sorts of wacky mods (i.e. my big muff with oscillation and high pass filter).

SWEET. just picked up 4 boom mic stands, a carry case for them, 2 mic cords a d a Hercules bass stand for $97 off of a dood from CL near me.
now i think i need one or two SM57's? i don't know shits about mics. i somehow ended up with 2 Beta58's and a SM58 to go with the two Beta52's (for bass, one at home, one at practice/shows) i remember buying. i remember buying one of the Beta58's. i dunno where the other one and the SM58 came from though.
but 58's would be shitty for drums? i want to have a room mic, a bass mic, i was going to run a mixer out to a channel of the audio interface to cover the vox, drum samples and keys, then i just need to figure out drums ne? want to have it set up with at least a LITTLE isolation for Everybody Playing At The Same Time and also do decent single instrument recordings.
think i need to spend a little on a decent mixer though. something with around 8 channels and 3 or 4 separate than mains outs. recommendations?
murrrrrr?

I got
these a while back as part of some promotion for buying a new kit, and they work pretty well. The clips to attach directly to the drums is wonderful.

Thanks, I'll check him out. The allure of some of those ZVex one-offs becomes too strong sometimes...I need to snap back to reality!

Oh shit, vintage Traynor amp just came up on my local list for $cheap_as_chips
If I can just get off the island quick enough tomorrow morning ....

EDIT: Pretty sure it's a YRM-1 Reverb Master. 50 W dark creamy EL34 machine. Will go great with a Rangemaster ... if I can just get to it in time.
EDITEDIT: shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits. Bastard sold before I could get to it.

SM57's work damn nice for drums (as well as LOTZ of other applications)
For mixers, check out the Mackie line. I use the Mackie 802 for most of my demos - love that guy.
Here's the entire VLZ3 line:
