Hi,...
I commented on your upright bass pickup thread on the double D Facebooks. "I was like WHA? This isn't the one true Aen?" Anyway,...hope the pup hunt went well.
And welcome Noob.

I still haven't bought a pickup for my bass. I am having a hard time finding something that will do what I want for less than $400. Someday...
And thanks for the kind welcome.

My friend plays upright, and the only pickup she found that she liked cost like 700
makes playing guitar seem cheap even though I am severely craving an Eau Claire Thunder

By replying to a few posts here, I don't think I ever introduced myself properly.
My real name is Nate, and I like fuzz. My friends call me Fred (god knows why) and it seemed natural to go by Fuzzy Fred.
I post a lot of stupid sarcastic crap, but I try to stay on topic when I can, and don't hate me too soon

I know, right? That would have been awkward.
As for the cost of playing upright. Fixing my bass never costs less than $100, strings are $100-400, and pick ups are OUTRAGEOUS. But its big and beautiful and I love it.
I am trying to get into playing electric, but it just isn't as fun.

Maybe your ole pal could trade a few Shivas or HODs for a pickup for your double bass?

I know if I had an upright; the first thing I would do is see how much feedback and anger I could get by running it through my pedalboard.
I'm actually seriously considering getting starter EUB for these purposes. I know they are different but you can bow and EUB much easier then you can a regular electric bass.

Oh and for some reason I though Fuzzy Fred was OG. I usually don't pay attention to "Joined" dates since since even the noobs here seem pretty experienced on those other forums.

Aen and I are planning to do some demos with my upright and a peddle board soon. Assuming I can find strings I like and a pick up.
Upright through a Sunn cab, a great big speaker and a bunch of Dwarfcraft. Should be fun.

I just shit mah drawers. I can't wait to hear that. I'm guessing you'll run into feedback "issues", like trying to pump and acoustic guitar through an overdriven tube amp.
