FTR I'm OK with the texture. I'm not OK with a poop-snot swirl and a black pickguard.

If it was lavender & sky blue, or red-violet with a clear guard, it would look so much better. Why cover up all that work with a black matte guard? And like Jonny said, you've got to fully commit to your makeover. Relic'd hardware and mint neck just don't match.

That looks like a copper patina finish. Scott Walker guitars often come with them.
