I think both Venus models are ugly as sin, but I G.A.S. for the twelve anyway. At this price, I'd probably hit the six if not skint.

DC CL also has a $40 Washburn Bantam bass described as having a warped neck, but my guess is it's just in need of a hair of trussrod tightening. If I'm right, a pretty decent bass for $40.

The cabs are solid shit. The scorpions suck but they can always be replaced. Those heads are tough shit as well!

what skullservant said. for a buck fitty, that is a no-brainer. i used a peavey ss head (a century, the standard is a step up) and an ampeg fridge as my bass rig for like 3 years. indestructible, loud and clean.
