They are m3/50mm standoffs, I got them cheap on ebay from a chinese seller. The shipping was faster than expected, and I just ordered 10 more, for a total of 20 for 5 modules.

45mm is probably sufficient, but 50mm puts them flush with the front edge of the HEK, and you can never be too safe with exposed guts. I'm not crazy about that part, so I might look into making some proper enclosures at some point.

Excellent; thanks!

I will be doing the same for some uses....
I'd seen similar used in some tabletop noise synths, but I hadn't made the lightbulb connection that I could just diy that shizz when I wanted until I saw your post. There's definitely times when I want to move a certain effect or utility module in close to a case without lugging over the entire second case....
Also, temporary self-imposed limitations to bring focus/deeper understanding of a certain facet of what the fuck-all is going on here....
Plus I like the idea of being more 'case modular' with my modular...sometimes. And this is low enough cost/time intensive to encourage experiments...pretty brill--thanks meng.

...... grabbed a Kitty Eyes too. because fuck it.
Awesome. Definitely read the whole manual and try the recommended stuff. Kitty does its best tricks when you feed it noise, and it reacts a little differently to every flavor/color/sound. The noise from Pico RND produces different results than either noise signal from the A-118, for instance. Also, some modules can't handle the blazing fast trigger output. or they just aren't made to go that fast, and will just take it like a constant 10v blast. Gamesystem and Voltage Memory both take the crazyclock well, and Pico Drums, Trigg and Seq also perform like champions under this brutal speed test. Definitely curious to see how your modules perform with it.
The manual also recommends pairing it with the telephone game, so I got that pretty quickly after getting kitty. It does pretty much the same kind of stuff, but with more usable results, and a cool lightshow. I've had the pair of them for a while now but still haven't really experimented with feeding them new things. I do want to invest the time that is needed, just haven't gotten around to it yet. The new rack layout is designed to hopefully get things moving in that area.

I used some risers (like warpsmasher) on a touch pad module (hyve thing) and used the rest of the case as a passive box (passive lpg, ring mod) so I could run a sequencer like the little Korg and get some rhtym cords. The risers were to clear the power and so I don't bump cords. They are male on one end and female on the other. It's fun....just need a preamp or booster or something because passive volume loss. Runs on a 9v though!

I've been using my WMD/SSF quad atten unracked a lot lately. I would like some of those floating attenuator connectors too.
I guess I'm on a roll, I don't want to rack this one either. It's too ugly in the rack, but too useful to dump, and slim enough to float, so...

lol. i get it. i dooooo. but i feel so bad for that poor Unloved Red Headed Step Child module.
got the Voltage Block and Dual FX in. i'm enjoying using the VB so far? i forgot how fun it was making a simple slidey progression was then fucking it up and hitting random a bunch of times then clicking back to the Smoother, Gentler Times.
and the Dual FX sounds GOOD. i like the reverbs a LOT, the crusher is nifty, the pitch is fun. the delays are nice, very simple, but the high pass sounds NICE.

and i get way too excited for things but i am JUICED about the Octone. you can link them! so if i dig it, i could grab another, have a 16 step quick interface sequencer, in 20 hp. i looooove the Metropolis, but it's like 34 freaking hp. that's.... a LOT.

I still like the idea of Xaoc Tiranas the best for small linkable sequencers. The Octone has too much in too small a space. But to get 16 steps with the Tiranas you'd need 4 of them, which is 24hp and likely a lot more money than 2 Octones.

1u Tempi would be pretty awesome! I also really like the looks of the new Intellijel 1u trigger sequencer thing

yah. i think the Trianas are unquantized too?
lol. said fuck it and ordered a second Octone.
i love the idea of a separate output for each gate too.
yep! got a 1uo_C coming soon as they're available as kits. the Temps is interesting, but i dunno if it's for me.

I used to have one Octone and it's a very fun sequencer. Separate gates out are great. I found it too small and fiddly though with all the tiny weak feeling knobs too close together.

Two would be really powerful though in 20hp.
