I love Mesa - both amps and cabs. (yaah, no luck with the trading OR discounts since Mesa price fixes their shit)

The RoadReady cabs are some of the strongest, brick shithouses I've used and they sound amazing. I've pumped so much goddamn wattage through those, and it was almost impossible to make them sound bad. They never got farty, woofy, or crapped out.

I have a 6x10 roadready from 2001 (one of the first ones when they redesigned them) and it just KILLS.
I also have 2 older model (mid 90's) that I've had now 15+ years and they're still going strong.

Along with that, I also still have my SWR Goliath III's but this is going back to pre-Fender. You can still find them used and I recommend those as well.
A 4x10 paired with their "Big Ben" 18 incher is a great combo.

Look for Sunn cabs, Aen. Cab design can impact a 15"s sound a lot. Or, man up and get a fridge.

Speaking of 15s, what are some good replacement speakers? I have an old Univox 2-15 cab that I would like to replace the speakers in sometime within the next year.

I AM NOW FAMOUS!!!!!!!!

I had to do post 1000 here in my ILF home.

ANy-Fuckin-WAys....

Bros, IDK, I am wanting to sell all of my effects except for my Megalith and B3K and buy a Roland VB-99. It has a ton of effects, COSM synths (with no latency) plus all kinds of other instruments. I am pretty sure I wouldn't use the Bass and Amp modeling.

I had a Roland GR-55. It was DOPE but even when I had the Picollo strings on my bass, I would get some latency (not a ton but still...) I ended up selling it awhile back. GR-55 was way more guitar oriented...so Anybody have an opinion?

Also there are some old Roland V-Bass units for sale on TB..maybe I should get one of those and keep spme of my effects. Those are from 2002 though....

HELL YEAH!!!

Damn, I just looked at the VB-99 manual a little bit...It has a ton of Effects in there. Only a couple of basic Synth sounds but a good amount of parameters for making cool patches and adding effects to the patches.

What to do...

Looks matter. If you look like a dork and play like a god, you're a fucking dork. If you look like a god but play like a dork, you're a god.

Sorry. But people hear with their eyes. Really. Listen to music from the past 60 years. The shittyest but best looking people ALWAYS triumph. But.....that's IF you're looking for the masses to love you. If you're looking to stick to your guns and get respect from those that know what's up, don't worry about looks.

Well Mudd, kind sir, just how much difference between VB-99 and V-Bass is my main point.

I checked out both manuals. The VB-99 has enough effects that could I basically sell every thing except an OD and Fuzz.
The V-Bass has a lot of effects, but a few would be missing that I think take synths over the top. The delays have less options. I don't think it has the slicer.
A few less options on a few other effects. I mean, I am sure the V-Bass is fly, but the VB-99 is flyer.

EDIT: Yeah...not delays on V-Bass, just delay. Plain ol' delay. That kind of takes my excitement down a notch for the V-Bass. VB-99 though :!!!: I just can't afford that though :(
