Not just the sum of it's parts electronically. It sounds really nice for those type of sounds, has a great UI, and checks of so many boxes for a fully feature LPG: comparitor on the trig input, secondary input for other CV/triggers, CV decay time, different attack settings. To me it seems like it has everything I wish the Optomix had. I was definitely on the lookout for one but had a hard time justifying the previous price, def out of the game now. So it goes. Keeping a long lead time and increasing the price will likely continue the hype. Pretty sweet for the RE dude honestly, the stars have seemed to aligned.

Yeah he definitely heard all of the comments and complaints regarding other LPGs and incorporated everything he could into one fully featured LPG. I get that, and I'm not saying it's not an impressive module or anything; I would totally use one if given the chance. What I don't get it the price or the hype.

But I guess there's a lot of people that probably feel the same about Mutables hype, so :idk:

Also, speaking of Mutables, I'm liking Tides 2 so much that I'm wanting a second one in my rack. I've pretty much exclusively been using it as a VCO even though I really bought it with the intention of using it as an envelope. I might actually swap out Rings for a second Tides 2 since I would still have some of the sounds of Rings in Plaits and I've rarely been using both Plaits and Rings in the same patch recently. Or maybe I should grab a Stages instead of a second Tides.

yeah. i would like a Natty Gatey at some point, but i don't have the room hp wise or the desire money wise. does look nice. I'LL WAIT.

woot! NE AI and Dual Borg are on the way, should hit today. really digging the 8, makes me want to try the Dubble Bjork and Ocho next to each other.

i like the Planar, but i rarely use it. thinking about getting a shallow controls skiff, put the rarely used Tetrapad, Planar and TSNM outside the main rack, but grabbable?

You guys ever get that wave of GAS for something you don't need?

I keep getting it for the Make Noise Black and Gold Shared System. There's something so appealing about it visually.
I wouldn't even want to swap any modules out. Just keep it on my desk and stare at it. It's so beautiful.

In other news I'm thinking about reorganizing my ish again from 1 mega rack into 2 smaller racks. I really like the idea of having a dedicated rack just for audio processing, and maybe using that for some other instruments instead of keeping everything contained to the sounds from the modular itself.

My most recent purchases have been external audio processing (a few pedals, an Analog Heat 2, and that new Dimension C pedal) which will be used as send effects from the modular, to the pedals, then back to the modular.

i don't love the MN case, but i really want that patchy goodness. their 1u is DESIRABLE.

would grab if they sold it separately.

If they update it with the QMMG or some shit I'll probably cave and get it. Or maybe when Erbe Verb is stereo.

LOL, kitty = automatic gas. It's a cheap trick but it's just too god damn satisfying to not fall for. Kitty Eyes is a very cool module because it will throw a fit on the drums and make sequencers freak out/shred fast. I still want a longcat version Devi ZG if anybody wants to sell me one.

Please dear God. Would buy instantly. I love mine now, but that lack of stereo input just kills me sometimes.

I definitely recommend Stages if you're looking for one module that can do a lot of different modulation. I've been contemplating getting a second one because I use it completely in every patch, whether it is for LFOs, envelopes, sequencing, or clock division/multiplication.
Tides 2 does look like it would be great for the quad output. Have you tried using it for chords yet? That's one thing I want to hear more of.

Plaits actually killed my GAS for Rings. The audio processing capabilities seem cool but Plaits is more versatile in a small system.

lol. have you seen the 6hp Plaits?

i dunno why, but i just feel super meh every time i use Plaits.

annnnnd it's FUCKED that you have to desolder/resolder part of it if you want to change panels.

I've been doing a bunch with Tides chord mode. It's really great! I've got an Instagram post up recently using it. I had chord mode of Tides out to Veils with Marbles modulating Veils. Basically had Marbles randomly bringing in different notes from Tides. Then I used the SQ1 to modulate the V/Oct in and chord of Tides. Processed it all through Rings and DLD.
