i've never been a fan of the modern moogs & DSIs (aside from the non-delay foogers & the tempest...) but that's still a very cool little rig.

edit: is that an RE on top of the orange?

The mixing board is
Channel 1: Phatty
Channel 2: Mopho
Channel 3: phatty audio out controlling pitch for the "freq'n mess" freq box > ring mod > 00funk > limiter with the cv controller.. controlling stuff.

Just in time for a new TBYH! album :joy:

kbithecrowing wrote:Awesome shit, Mud. What are you controlling the Phatty with?

I think I might have to sell this Voyager Old School to go modular. I think I need ot make Eurorack Modules. Like The Great Destroyer, specifically.

In the right hands they are NOIZE machines

This guy's kind of a knob but there are a few cool noise textures in the background made with DX7

If you start making modules, you better make the bigger modules too (moog-size) or I'll drive to Wisconsin and hold you hostage. :poke:

Hermmmm. I would love to have/use/make 5U big jack stuff, but I really think the bang for your buck is greater in Euro. Of course, there's always custom...
But first things first, adapting the circuit!

I agree that Euro is usually more affordable and shit, but I just hate those tiny little 1/8" plugs. That's why I went 5U. Well, that and the Synthesizers.com modules are just as cheap as euro stuff.

If the DX7 had an interface like the Blofeld, Evolver, Tempest, etc... it would a whole different game. FM synthesis is insanely fun when the interface is not a tedious pig to fuck around with. If you really want to dive into FM synthesis and your budget is well beyond a DX7, go modular. Lots of VCO's, VCA's, EG's, lots of fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just fuck!

Got the Drone Commander in tonight. Running it into a mixer channel on my Eurorack, they're in heaven together.
