Just finished writing the first song for my new doom/sludge/grunge/post rock drum and bass duo. This one is more on the doom x post rockish side. Other stuff will be grittier, but this felt good. Finished it after the drummer left (coincidentally he is also named Justin) so I couldn't do a shitty iphone recording, but here's my usual guitar pro export nonsense.

Yes.

Thanks guys. I'm still trying to figure out my pedalboard for this. Any ideas what I should use for dirt? (I have a NYC BMP, Fuck OD, DE EB, DE ZG, a few fuzz faces, Ibanez FZ7, Scumtone Razzberry Fuzz, Behringer VTM, MXR M66, Fulltone Catalyst, EHX Nano Muff, DBA Interstellar Overdriver, Electra Distortion, etc... a few others)

I think I'm also going to extend the last part of this song where it will get heavy.

This is an idea I approve of!

Looking for feedback on intro to song. Ignore the last couple seconds - it would be heading into a heavy part. You may need to turn it up loud. Was recording with my iphone. Timing is off a little throughout - mad sick, and just wanted to get this out there.

Yeah mad. I like it. Can definitely visualise..well audialise...it going balls to the wall heavy! Really cool melody. Maybe you could loop it at one stage and play the same thing an octave up or something like that, give it a bit more variation. Swells are also fun to do on top of loops. :)

Just released our debut EP Think Thunk Thought today, a couple years in the making. Had to record and re-record some of these songs up to three different times. This is by far the best we've sounded on record.

New work in progress for my drum and bass duo.
[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/jfrey/song-3[/soundcloud]

The drums kind of suck. Couldn't think of anything really good so I just threw some stuff down really quick so it was just a little more fleshed out. After I finish like 5 or so songs, we'll do some actual recording. Need to fix the ending. That part doesn't work :grumpy:

I like this. I reminds me of soundtrack to an 80's sidescrolling beat em up arcade game like bad dudes vs dragon ninja or something. :thumb:
