I cannot wait. Been trying to finish my dex in AS, but I'm still about 250 short.

Man I'm already bored of Skyrim Special Edition, it looks almost exactly the same. Remastered my asshole.

Also I forgot how insanely awful the UI is for PCs, might be worth it to play the regular one if I wanted just so I could use Sky UI.

How is Sun/Moon going to be different from past games?

My first pokemon game was X. Never finished it. then I played Ruby and liked it more.

I guess I don't really "get it"?
I love loot games. gotta get'em all.....but catching little thangs doesn't have the same appeal.

Spent several days running IdleMaster to farm Steam trading cards for selling. Made about $3.50. Not sure what it cost in electricity. :picard:

Just finished SOMA and it was wonderful. It was my "in between" game to play when my nerves were fucked from Alien Isolation and from when I'd binged The Witcher 3 too hard, but ended up enjoying it way more than I expected. Pure Philip K Dick style gold.

SOMA was great! Played it with the misses, and she loved it too. When I had just finished I thought it could have been scarier, but I quickly came to the conclusion that the story was so amazing that I almost felt like the 'monsters' weren't really all that important to begin with.

Yeah, that's exactly the conclusion I had, I don't think it should have even been marketed as a horror game at all to be honest. Having Catherine talk to you all the way through really takes the fear out, and most of the enemies having quite simple mechanics made it quite easy to deal with, especially considering you could survive a hit or two from them. However, now that I'm back to trying to finish the painfully long game that is Alien Isolation, the blood pressure is back up and the fear is real.

So I started Gen 1, had Blue and Yellow, then didn't play again until XY, which made me fall back in love. I picked up Alpha Sapphire, which to me is a better game than XY was, but I'm still glad I had picked up Y. I now have the 20th anniversary pokemon N3ds and am replaying yellow.

As to your question of what's different, lots.
-new pokemon
-new Alola forms of classic 'mon, like ice type vulpix and sandshrew and Dragon type eggecutor
-new "Z moves" available once per battle
-the old 8 gym/badge system has been replaced by island trials
-you can now summon HM(surf, cut, rocksmash, fly, etc) 'mon instead of having to teach them to your own pokemon and ruining their moveset
-they are different timezones. Sun matches the 3ds internal clock like normal, whereas Moon is set 12 hours ahead, meaning if you play during the day, in game will be set at night.

I'm sure there's more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. If you're unsure, get the demo. There isn't a ton you can do, but its a nice little taste. The game itself looks beautiful, and the battle interface in my opinion is much improved. For beginners, moves are labeled as to how effective they will be.

I just ordered Sun on amazon and am super excited.

Thanks.

I think I'll try to finish Alpha Sapphire before I try sun/moon.

It's 64 bit now, so mods are going to get a huge upgrade. IT's not much of an upgrade in the surface, but it'll bring a lot of awesome shit.

Why both? ORAS I can see, because different baddies and plot, but as far as I know, sun and moon have the same enemy team

because i can afford to! and so i can play the game twice. i hate having to nuke my save game to be able to play again.

oras was almost perfect, if they didnt remake ruby and sapphire i never would have picked pokemon back up. i havent played since the remakes of gold and silver. but ruby and sapphire were my favorites. and yeah, the post game in oras isn't as short and small as everyone claims. legendaries everywhere like you said. i picked up x after oras, also an almost perfect game by pokemon standards.
