oof. i feel like such a douche. i'm at a Volto show in LA. and.... i've never really listened to Tool, so i feel like i'm a dick for hanging out and being mildly interested where someone that was a Tool fan would geek on being like 20 feet away from Danny Carry doing his 4 piece thing with Lance something that tours with Don Henly (he's pretty fucking sick), some big shredder (yet tasteful) dood named Pepe, and KILLING it some guy named Hanz Sumphin. i'm not good at last names.

i appreciate the talent and the music's sometimes interesting, but i kindan feel like ot should be somebody else here instead of me. my drummer and singer and our other bud love Tool, so they're wet. but i'm only mildly damp.

Are you going for a different tone? The GK is a great amp....do you want a tube pre? All tube? Something with more dirtzz?

JWAR has 2 amps. An all tube Eden 300T (used to be mine) and the GK.

That is all that I am allowed to say... :excellent:

I just didn't know if I could justify having two amps. My main trade interests were pedals but that dude offered up an amp (lol I know I'm a hypocrite), and I thought at very least I'd try to find info on it. The GK is a GREAT head. It's like instant Tool tones. Fer realz. hahahaha. No but really, it's more dirty and gritty sounding than the Eden. I love both. I was just trying to use it to either A)get more cool pedals or B)get more cool pedals. That's pretty much it. I'm a pedal whore. I wish I could keep every pedal I buy but then what's the fun in that anyway? RIGHT??????????????????????????????????????

I should keep more pedals...sigh.

I thought about this yesterday for awhile. The Dynamic Filter and Depth Charge are my longest kept pedals. The Depth Charge is just too fucking good to flip. I'll probably keep that bitch forever. The Dynamic Filter I would have flipped a long time ago, but no one is interested. Ok! I lied I also have had that fucking Morley Wah forever too. Keep in mind forever is like 2 years. hahahaha.

I have had a couple of pedals for 15 years. But that is because they sat in a box for 10 years. Right now I have 2 pedals that have been on my board for a year, MXR BOD, and my GigFX SubWah.
I have been slowing down on trading because I like what I have, and don't have anything extra to trade.

Although, I must admit, I am thinking about trading for a Chunk Systems Octavius Squeezer...any of you guys have any experience with one of those

I know the OS is supposed to be a bitch to use. There are a lot of nice sounds in it though. It seems like I could be rid of my SA BEF Pro because it has an envelope filter (low pass and band pass), the filter can be controlled by a LFO and Step Sequencer, plus you have a decent amount of wave shapes. It also seems like I could get rid of my MXR BOD because it has an octave down (as well as other intervals, up and down).

I have always been interested in one of these, not sure about what to do...

Gotcha :)

Well, I have a 1001RB racked on top of my Mesa M9.... kinda for a backup, but I also started bi-amping. I like the combo of the Mesa and a SS amp. Both fantastic amps.

You probably know, but the Depth Charge is in my short list of all time fav pedz. (I have 3 of them, God forbid Jack at Prescription decided to close up shop)
DON'T let er GO!!

My longest tenured pedals are my Bass Micro Synth, my DOD flanger, and my Devi Ever Aenima. All of those are from 2007, so that's 5 years. Which seems like an eternity for pedals.

Delta, I have an OS right now. It really is the most amazingly deep and ridiculously featured pedal I've ever played. It is a programmable fuzz, filter and synth, all in one. But you really have to sit down and read what every single parameter does, and step through each patch, setting each parameter one by one to get what you really want. I didn't really like presets at all. So I dedicated a full evening to making three patches that I use with my covers band (a gated fuzzy synth for our poppy stuff, a cleanish/dirty octave that replaced my OC-2, and a fuzz + LFO filter that I use for big swoopy squalls). I need to sit down with it for another night or two and write a bunch of patches for my originals.

I've had my MXR phase 45 for 20 years :thumb: Actually the thing belonged to my mom who never liked it and one day when I was 13 I was digging around in drawer and found the thing in it's original box and to this day I still haven't found a pedal that can kick it off my board  I have a bunch of other phasers but they are all really extreme and just don't do what it does.. I've had my Katana sound SBF for a couple of years... LAL SOF 88 wish... moog filter and phaser wish too... mellowtone electric apple.. about a year and a half.. I try out a lot of different pedals but I seem to keep going back to the ones that work :idk:

Thanks BCBC. I just was looking on the OS thread on TB and saw that you picked one up. I am really close to pulling the trigger. I can see it moving a bunch of stuff off of my board. I don't mind programming stuff and tweaking. I will have the time to get deep into it in a few weeks (middle of summer school break...almost 3 weeks :!!!: ) and don't have to have it ready for the next few shows except for for an Octave patch.
So yours is running fine off of your Cioks?

I remember buying the FX72 brand new in Sam Ash when I was about 13.
It's probably the only pedal I remember buying that long ago that I still own and use today.

I know I bought the Bass Grunge around a similar time, but lost it somewhere over the years.
Found another one on the bay since I remember how much broootal it brought.

Yeah, I'm running it off the high-current DC outlet on the Cioks (which I think gives 600 mA, the OS needs 300 according to the manual)

Longest-kept pedals here would be a toss-up between my two C/breads; Super Chili Picoso and/or Hyperpak Dirty Channel, both bought about 5 years ago and both are definite keepers.
