You can buy EGC pickups, they're just a little expensive, but they are quality for what you get. The last set of pickups I got were two chrome single coils for my Series One and it was $400 for the set

Just keep in mind they are all rear mounting, so you'd have to drill through the back of the guitar to mount.

Just built this from parts. The body is from a beat to shit CAR Mij Jazzmaster, the neck is an Allparts vintage strat. The rest is from here and there. Sounds pretty great. It was my first stab at this sort of thing.

Not sure if I posted that I ended up swapping the BG Pure 90 (that I fucking loved) from the bridge to a set of Lace Finger Burners. They are GREAT!! Love the clear low end and the naughty mids. A hair quieter than the P90 in volume, and definitely no where near as clean, but these are not entirely dirty dirty. Not nearly like the dirty heshers. Really fucking dig them! Plus I love the burnt chrome finish!!

And because I'm a dirty, filthy, picture whore, here's another angle:

What were the Heshers like? Part of me wants to try them but part of me still wants Alumitones again

They are great. Very warm and very hot. But these are less hot, still warm, and a little cleaner in the upper mids. That's why I went with these.

Cool, thanks for that. I love mids, so I was thinking I might like the Heshers. I still love how loud Alumitones are, and how full range they are too. Tough call here :/

hey man...i might sell my heshers...i'll know when i get the bastin neck (about a couple of weeks)

i had them in my les paul...and they were just way to much for me. If it doesnt work with the bastin neck and jazzmaster, i would probably sell them.

Cool! Let me know dude. I don't get paid again until the end of the month, but if my white EGC sells I'll set aside some cash and either go with your Heshers or Alumitones!

Heshers have mids. Warm, low mids. Definitely. Plus some nice upper mids and highs. The Finger burners just have raunchy upper mids that cut through like crazy. So it depends which mids you're going for. Can't really go wrong with both. Even the Heshers clean up well with the guitar volume, if needed.

Yeah as chiller says... A lot of low mids...just didnt work with the les paul...im hoping the alu neck and jazzmaster gets a different sound out of it. My neck arrived today...so should have a good idea this weekend.
