Yeah, like we talked about. I have really only tried maybe 6 types of strings in my life so I am game to try a lot. I actually like a pretty bright string for my cleans. I always end up playing a lot of melodic kind of chicken picken type parts before stomping on pedals.

Playing with thumb and first 3 fingers, hitting lower note wih thumb, plucking with other 3 fingers. Sort of a country/banjo type technique, sounds good doing other stuff, I bastardize the technique as well.

So, is this sorta a slap/pop/banjo roll hybrid?

I'm not the tech guy. I just come in with one liners and emo biatch posts, every now and then.

I just did an image search for "bondage goat zombie". I'm disappointed.

HAHA! :thumb:

The chickin' pickin' reminds that I need to work on my finger technique as it's been slippin'. But... Posting at I Love Fuzz reminds me I should go out and look at a Pedaltrain 3. I could do both but I don't have that kind of attention span...

I mean the chicken pickin' technique that I use is definately my own variation. Behndy, just because it has a Bluegrass/Banjo/ Americana/Old School Country/Hill Billy roots doesn't mean you have to play that type of music with it. I played bass by myself, in my room, for a long time. I was in bands for years. Then I quit playing bands and just jammed with other people here and there. I was writing songs on bass, so I found a way to play melody and have some low notes too. So, I still write stuff like that, then show the band, then I decide if I play it like I wrote it or play more normal bass lines or what. I actually learned about the technique from a Zak Wylde article in guitar player in 1992 or something. He does it with a pick between thumb and pointer (like normal) and uses his other 3 fingers. I pretty much don't play with a pick so I worked out my own version.

nope. THE DESCRIPTION RUINED THE MAGIC.
