Day 2 so far is :idk: ,although the Wii-U looked kinda cool

Still mad that they didn't say anything about Ace Attorney Investigations 2 yet
looks like it's still JPN only :mope:

I don't know. I was pretty disappointed with most of the Microsoft showing. The Nintendo developed games look amazing. The Wii U controller I think will be really cool for some things and pointless for other things. The ability to switch from tv to controller screens is amazing. Will definitely come in handy for me. Living with my girlfriend is not conducive to console gaming for me. We bought some gigantic fifty-something inch flat screen with internet connectivity and all that and I never get to use that thing. She like nests on the couch in front of it. I gave up trying to get solid console gaming time on it this past December. For me the biggest things I'm interested in are Skyward Sword, Mass Effect 3, Prey 2, and Skyrim. Maybe one or two other things.

I guess the reason the Nintendo press conference was so disappointing to me is that I don't really care anything about the 3DS :idk:

For the 360, I'm mainly looking forward to Skyrim, MW3 and *maybe* BF3...To be honest I don't remember what else they even showed :erm:

Edit/addendum: Oh, I almost forgot!..the new Tomb Raider looks pretty amazing too :)

The coolest news I've seen so far is that the Zelda orchestra will be touring. Was it just me or was the Nintendo audience filled with a bunch of asshats: "Hey, we're giving you Zelda for free." ...*silence*

Zelda is so amazing. I'm gonna replay one of them starting sometime this week. Maybe hookup the system to my computer monitor so I don't have any problems trying to pry the girlfriend off the tv.

Any suggestions?

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, or Twilight Princess?

Link to the Past... I'm sure you can find it lying around somewhere... :p

I'm psyched for Darksiders 2, sure it ripped off Zelda, Portal and God of War among others but it was still fun as fuck!

It made me really uncomfortable that Microsoft's conference was dominated by kinect stuff. Seems like it's been thrown in for the sake of it in some games.

Yeah. The Kinect has some cool features, but I just don't see it as being applicable in most things. They're really trying to force it.

Motion control is stuuuppidddddddd, just as annoying as 3D.

Glad to hear that some of you G's are into the Wii-U idea. I think a lot of fags on different forums are like "FAIL" and "THIS SUCKS" and all that, and how Nintendo doesn't know what they're doing and a lot of people going so far as to say "Nintendo, you're dead to me". <----actual quote from IGN

Anyway... I think the Wii-U looks pretty neat. I'm not huge on motion control, and I think games are LESS immersive with motion control (which is why it's funny to see the Kinect and Move devices and how people are rolling their eyes at them), but the Wii-U has some good possibilities. I live alone, so the whole "You can still play while someone else is watching TV!" thing is a non-point for me. I do think it's neat that I can just kinda sit wherever I want and play a game... again, a lot of it seems silly and superfluous, but welp... I've owned every Nintendo console, and I'm sure I'll pick this one up as well.

Some people are also complaining about the constant Wii branding, and how the Wii-U is "nothing new". Welp... look at Apple, one of the most successful if not THE most successful mass market electronics company in the world. They can release the same product with minor changes every year or so and it doesn't matter... people buy that shit right up. Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iPhone 1-78, iPad, iPod, iPod Touch, etc. etc. etc.

I think it's smart for Nintendo to do EXACTLY what they're doing... hardcore gamers be damned. For every hardcore gamer on the forums that says Nintendo is dead to them, there are ten dudes like me that are just going to be like "This is fun; I'm getting one." and don't post it on whatever forum (though I realize I just did, but you see my point). I think I get a little burned when I read that shit, which is why I rarely, RARELY do (you know, the IGN forums or whatever else; as with IMDB, etc.). It's just frustrating when it doesn't need to be.

Also, I think it's smart for Nintendo to do what a lot of people expected, a kind of Wii 2, or Wii HD. And that's what they're doing, with a jacked-up controller and HD graphics and all that... so they made a bunch of money and new fans off of the Wii and are now upgrading the whole thing with a different gimmick. And yes, it is a gimmick, but it's ok. So now they can compete with Microsoft and Sony a little better with this Wii 2... and use the opportunity as a sort of interim period until they release the truly new successor in 4 or 5 years, you know? The Wii-U is cool, but I think it's just a bridge between the Wii and whatever comes next. And that's ok with me. Again, I think it's smart.

That was a bit rambly but oh well.

As for Zelda... yep, the 25th anniversary shit looks dope. I'd love it if they put all of the games on a single disc, but I guess that's probably not going to happen. I'll probably go through a Zelda renaissance myself before Skyward Sword comes out (which looks doooooooooope). It's been a long time since I've played any Zelda games, so maybe I'll go right in order...

1. The Legend Of Zelda
(I'm omitting Zelda II here because I went through that recently)
2. A Link To The Past
3. Ocarina Of Time
4. Majora's Mask
5. Wind Waker
6. Twilight Princess

Hopefully I don't get burnt out. Maybe I'll do the 2nd Quest in Zelda 1, since I've never done that. Otherwise... I've been through ALTTP a million times... and now you see I'm just typing as I think and this will not be relevant to you... Dahhh... I think I need to replay Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask... I've done Wind Waker two or three times, but I wanna do that one too. And I only went through Twilight Princess once, but didn't really like it all that much. Maybe I'll give that one another shot.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

I wish they called the new console the NES 2. That would be much cooler than Wii U. Still can't decide what Zelda to play, and I'm trying to figure out a way to connect my Wii to my monitor, but that's apparently nearly impossible  Went to 6 stores yesterday trying to find some kind of adapter for RCA/Component/Wii Proprietary to HDMI/VGA. Nothing.

The Wii-U is a very cool concept, but I'm just not into most of the games Nintendo puts out :idk:
I like Mario, Zelda, etc. but they won't make me buy a console

Plus, I still like using just a regular old controller to play games and prefer playing more mature games along with FIFA and other sports games (honestly if I could only play one series for the rest of my life, it would be FIFA)

Nintendo is just catering to a different crowd and that's totally cool :thumb:
