One of the dudes from Fu mancho has a site for guitar lessons. I forget the name of it though. It's pretty easy to come by. I always some how find links and shit for his site.

GB though.

I sent you a soundcloud link on FB. Needs to be smoothed out, have some transitions to write and I am going to see if I can lengthen it by a couple minutes. Doesn't feel complete yet so I need to find that riff or whatever it is that brings it back to the ground.

don't mean to butt in...but i wouldn't mind listening to your music too...

How about putting that soundcloud up in the "Lets hear your music" thread? I'd like to eavesdrop too even though we are not (yet) internet buddies.

If your still having some reservations about your WRHB in the new tele I found this this morning regarding the WRHB RI's by telenator (the only person who makes true WRHB clones at the moment)

Seeing that the re-issue WRHB are pretty flat sounding to begin with, I think that 1 meg pots would make them too bright and harsh. The pickup just doesn't have the right qualities to begin with and rather that developing sweet, complex harmonics with 1 meg pots, they tend to just get harsh sounding. My recommendation would be 500k pots and doing the Fralin mod. I think it was Fralin. You take the pickup out and turn the covered scews out 1 1/2 turns or something. Pulling the screws back like that brightens the pickup a bit more and works well with the 500k pots. It will sound better.

I plan on doing this sometime soon and will definitely report back. Also they recommend .22uf caps to correct the tone pot taper if you upgrade to 500k pots.

Oh, this is great info. Thanks, Skip.

GB though.

Jaime doesn't use CuNiFe magnets as it's so expensive to produce, but he does make supposedly excellent WRHB. He's my first choice if I were to replace the humbucker. He also makes a few cool looking Telecaster single-coils, including a P90-type of thing, which I'm very interested in.

I did not know this.

No problem, further investigation showed that the fralin mod is two full turns out on the bottom screws and the top screws level with the cover, and the whole pickup lowered as far as it will go (about 1/8th of an inch, or 3mm, above the pickguard) then upgrading to the 500k pots. Like I said I will be doing this in the coming weeks and will report back on its success.

I've been experimenting with AADGBE tuning, not sure if I like it yet. Does any of you tune like this?

Yep! It's my main tuning. I love it and use it regularly

Once I have the transitions sorted out and there aren't a ton of fuck ups I will post it in there. It was our first practice writing, and only our second time playing together. Still have a good bit of stuff to work out before I am down to post it anywhere for all to hear.

Thanks man. That was just with one amp. I run two normally but my Marshall was in the shop. I have a SLP reissue with 6550s and the amp you heard by itself is a Laney gh50l. I used a zoom h2n hand held recorder to record that. Fucking love that thing.
