About Amps,
I have not played through a Peavey I didn't like. For the most part they are pretty cheap and built like bricks. I have a dream of putting together an all peavey rig. I love my T-40 like I love my daughter and I would like to find a Classic 120/120 to run into a 3620 and a classic 60/60 to run into a 215. Prob. pick up a couple rusty boxes for pre's.

Today, I am listening to Candlemass - Nightfall. My fucking christ do I love this album. Going to have an old school day I think. Count Raven, Trouble, Saint Vitus and Pentagram are on the menu too.

never got into candelmass...maybe i should give them a listen today...Trouble on the other hand, i really like.

on another topic...i want to buy a little...and i mean little SS practice amp. for under £50...call me superficial, but i want one with a Marshall badge! but in anycase, been reading that the old Super lead 12's were made really well back in the day, and much better than the newer MG models. Any one ever try one of the Super Leads?

They took the stock parts of Neurosis songs, stretched and repeated ad nauseum, for wayyy to long. I would have been embarrassed to be in that band. They almost detracted from Neurosis's set because by the time N. went on, I was a little tired of the slow heavy churn. But then of course, N. blew my socks out my ass so everything was okay.

Amen Ra? I find them pretty derivative. I admire what they're trying to do, but so much of that post-rock and metal stuff is walking a road Neurosis have been travelling for thirty years. I think U.S. Christmas are great through, they're on a similar path (and even share a lot of thematic ground with Neurosis) but doing their own totally unique thing.

Unpopular opinion: I enjoy Amen Ra way more than I enjoy Neurosis.

Hey Dan!

If your still having some reservations about your WRHB in the new tele I found this this morning regarding the WRHB RI's by telenator (the only person who makes true WRHB clones at the moment)

Seeing that the re-issue WRHB are pretty flat sounding to begin with, I think that 1 meg pots would make them too bright and harsh. The pickup just doesn't have the right qualities to begin with and rather that developing sweet, complex harmonics with 1 meg pots, they tend to just get harsh sounding. My recommendation would be 500k pots and doing the Fralin mod. I think it was Fralin. You take the pickup out and turn the covered scews out 1 1/2 turns or something. Pulling the screws back like that brightens the pickup a bit more and works well with the 500k pots. It will sound better.

I plan on doing this sometime soon and will definitely report back. Also they recommend .22uf caps to correct the tone pot taper if you upgrade to 500k pots.

Glad to be here! Dude, started writing with the new drummer. Have a super rough recording from our first day of writing. If you are interested I will send it. Have a lot of smoothing out to do and some transitions to write but I am fucking pumped.

Check out the song solitude. It was the first song I heard and it kind of blew me away. Give the vocals a chance, I realize they can be a bit jarring at first but it is so heavy.

Yeah this doom room is out of control, its almost like HCFX was good at slowing things down!

But i much prefer this room...people can actually have discussions without having to wait till the forum works again!

From what I have read his are "vintage spec" but are not direct clones with the CuNiFe thread pole pieces like telenator. But the Creamery's pickups are considered the second best next to the 450$ telenator clones.

NICE!!!! I'm definitely down to check out some practice recordings, if it's on soundcloud send me a link or if you want to send me an mp3 or something shoot over to me on FB. Glad to hear you have a working project again!

I was actually listening to candlemass on youtube...the last time i listened to it i was more into death metal, but now its actually sounding really good. Didn't get a chance to listen to whole thing...people at work have no respect, interrupting my musical discovery!

I sent you a soundcloud link on FB. Needs to be smoothed out, have some transitions to write and I am going to see if I can lengthen it by a couple minutes. Doesn't feel complete yet so I need to find that riff or whatever it is that brings it back to the ground.
