Haven't listened to this one yet, but after the Bluebeard why would anyone name a pedal with some "beard" in it?
Unless it's "PurpleBeard".

What's the build quality like on these? Somebody locally picked up one of the DE1984 and said he had issues with some wiring.

Wiring is fine. My DE actually has the nicest wiring of the bunch. I'll take a photo when I get a chance.

So, that Bedlam Drive is based on the OCD (which I've never played). How do they compare, excane?

We were talking about it in the Doom Room the other day and there was some conjecture as to the nature of EVH branded products and MXR getting that thing right. If you had one, a demo and a shootout with the 1984 would definitely bury some arguments.

The Bedlam Drive has a few changes to the orignal OCD curcuit. There is quite a but more gain, but you can still get some low gain sounds. Also with version I gave added bass and treble dipswitches which are pre gain so the bass can also control the gain. Plus there is a boost. Its like a meaner OCD, but can still be tamed I guess if thatakes sense.
