If I'm not mistaken, you're right and that's a custom dwarfcraft double pedal. Looks awesome!

Correct. This is the result of Aen's offer that he put up in his forum a couple weeks ago. The right stomp is a Great Destroyer, the left is a Hair of the Dog.

Got to fire the bad boy up today. The Hair of the Dog is a cool pedal. When the gate is all the way open, It straddles that line between a high-gain overdrive and fuzz. As you turn down the gate, it definitely gets more splatty and fuzzy. It also has a sortof clean blend. It's not clean, it's dark and dirty. So it has less of that stacked-signal clean-blend sound that I don't like.

The Great Destroyer is everything I thought it was going to be. It's the pissed-off, kicking, spitting camel of the fuzz world. It is the most unruly fuzz I've ever played with.

Well, I was just watching some clips of the ZVex "Woolly Mammoth" fuzz, and I thought, "hey that sounds pretty rad, maybe I could justify an eighth dirt pedal, and my girlfriend might enjoy trying her bass through it".

Then I checked out the price.

As we say in Australia; yeah, nah.

There are tons of clones and alternatives. It's an awesome sound, no doubt. I got one of the custom one-offs of his Wolly Mammoth for my birthday a few years back and it still kills on guitar and bass. That being said, it's definitely not worth THAT much.

You can clone one for about 1/4 of the price!

I'll look into it, I feel a bit weird about doing that though.

Is it taking money from someone if I wasn't going to buy it anyway? /deep

Perhaps I can support a builder who makes something similar, any ideas?

I'm pretty sure he said the opposite ;)

On a barely-related note, this thread is pretty epic (check out animal69's posts on page 2)

It's not like you're making 30 of them, putting a new name on it (or the same?) and selling them on eBay. If it's for you it's for you mane, there are tons of layouts out there and it's not that complex of a build. DO IT! :thumb:

Also, that HC thread is...hilarious. Or maybe, hilarious?

I guess that's true, I'll look into it when I get some spare time :) (who else would like a 25th hour in the day?)

I know right! The best part is that the guy honestly doesn't believe he's done anything wrong. And also how he explodes at ZVex for making the truth known. Still reading.. wow he really goes off the rails at about page 9..

Back on-topic? I'm now watching (actually listening) to demos of the Wattson Classic FY-2 and FY-6 fuzzes, they're pretty cool! I like the enclosures quite a lot.
