After almost a year of waiting I finally got this beast in

Retro Mechanical Labs did an awesome job repurposing it into a dual Hyde distortion filter. Added a bunch of cv control, LFO on each channel, a link button to either stack or use for stereo filter/distortion, etc.

...as for all that room in front, I will of course be kicking it up to 15u soon, with another set of rails, bookended by Rolands. :animal:

Gas is building to at least try out a Piston Honda Mk3. My rig has changed very little in 2018 but when my SSP gets here itnis gonna force me to make changes due to it’s size. Maybe these changes will allow me to sneak a PH mk3 in there as if by magic?

Also Ruiner that RML box is gorgeous!

Jody, doesn’t the SSP has XYZ Morphing through wavetables. I bet you could load the PH’s wavetables into the SSP and get a close simulation minus the wave folder .

good point, I should probably just chill with the SSP a good while and stop planning my next moves beyond that. Modular grid makes it too easy to just spiral out of control with planning, lol.

murf. fucking Modular Grid. so damn useful, so damn DISRUPTIVE. i do do the Unicorn Support thing every year tbough. such an awesome, but easy to over use, resource.

woot! Arjan at MDLR has been awesome to work with. they have 14u 126 hp cases, and when i asked about a 7u 126 hp case he said, "sure! they're not listed yet, but i'll send you an invoice.". then when i requested slidey nuts instead of threaded inserts he said how he usually doesn't, because they're a pain to deal with if you make a lot of cases, but he ordered some for me.

then he emailed me asking whether i wanted the 1u at the top or in the middle, which i didna even know was an option. NICE.

annnnnd the case should go out next week. as much as i love the DNGR case i have, i still get annoyed thinking about the extra six months i waited for it to ship.

going to be fun going a bit smaller, have room in front for some stuff like the Lyra and Deluge.

besides the Ikea laptop stands, any other suggestions on a 7u rack holder-upper'er?

interesssstinnnng. was thinking about a solid tabletop option? smaller but sturdy?

might grab some of the 3d Waves printed ones to try.

also, quick bit of something i'm working on for next weekend -

drums into the input of the Lyra, everything coming out just the Lyra GrrL.

This is what I use:

It works nicely and can fold up and go into my cable bag when I'm going to jam or something.

Yo! The last few weeks have been really awesome! I managed to get interest from a small label in releasing my next album, which should happen in the next month or two. It'll even have some kind of cassette release too! Avoiding the GAS has been instrumental in getting myself focused enough to push through and finish it... now that it's done, it's time to SPLURGE LIKE AN IRRESPONSIBLE ADULT.

I'm trying to get more use out of my modular these days. Brought the Beatstep back to try and get some of that immediacy back and stop getting frustrated at Yarns, Pam's, and Metropolis not working in sync.

Thinking about expanding the samplers in my racks. I think I want something which can be a dedicated sample player like the one 4ms makes as well as something to mangle live input like the Morphagene, but slightly differently (maybe the Nebulae 2? I know a lot of people here bought it but wasn't around for the feedback for it). I've kinda grown tired of some of the stuff in my rack (surprisingly, Plaits, Harmoniag, etc...) but I suppose that's because I'm going for different sounds out of my rack now... either way.

Anyone have experience with Endorphin.es? I've been thinking about picking up a Shuttle System during a sale to use as a mini rack alongside some of the Elektron gear I have for a super small lineup with those + Medusa or OB6 Desktop. I've watched a few videos and I'm impressed by the tones people are coming up with out of such a compact device. The USB/Midi interface looks super impressive, too. I'm really looking forward to that Blck.Noir module from them, too.

I use a cheap-ass guitar cradle like the one you linked, B. With my MN 7U steel case. Works alright, can be a bit wobbly when you pull cables out or whatever. The MN steel stand that came w the B&G is a bit spendy, but fucking perfect. I guess eurorack is spendy in general, I’d go for the MN stand over anything else tbh.

Stoked to see what ya keep in the downsize.
