There's a couple of dudes who started hosting a synth meet-up thing locally. They've got some Eurorack, old FM synths, old drum machines, things like that. Everyone who comes is encouraged to bring their synths if they want. It's really cool, we've introduced a lot of people to Euro that would normally never have even seen it.
In the future they're looking at doing small sets, DIY module builds, and Eurorack 101 classes.

Sounds like an awesome community project!

there's a guy locally that started up an Electronic Open Mic Night in Oakland. people show up, sign up, play about 20 minutes. a lot of cool ambient stuff, some cheesy techno, a lot of noise. always fun, i always meet new interesting peoples, been a blast to play and fuck up with no judgements.

I’m so glad to have a community of synth-enthusiests, even if it is small. An electronic music open mic seems sick too.

Finally got my Intellijel 7u today. Lovvvvvve it already. Super light and solid. Much better than the Make Noise skiff I’ve been using. Having the I/O module and Quadratt is already opening up a ton of functionality.

i'm trying to talk Ladik Man into doingll some 1u's (which he doesn't want) or to offer conversions of his 6hp into 1u.

because yes PLEASE.

trying to figure out how to get Pulp Logic stuff with the jacks on the bottom instead of the top. because Syinsi has barely anything available.

i have the 2 4 input mixers and 2 I/O's from Syinsi sorted, and 4 Pulp VCA's on the way.

MORE PLEASE.

Haven't been posting much but I took inspiration from occasional ILF-er/Instagram homie brndwllms and ran my euro thru 2 Pretty Years in stereo (both I and my roommate have one) and I'm doing a whole live set with that as the basic premise tonight. I'll be experimenting with basically building up one "loop" on the synth (ie I've got a Plaits drone, a Morphagene sample repeating, and a simple melodic line from Mysteron that doesn't quite repeat) and instead of evolving it on a composition level, I'll be using the Pretty Yearses (what is plural of Pretty Years?) as the primary vehicle of change. The interaction between gain staging, bias settings, and the filter positions/resonance actually gives a pretty huge array of sounds to work with, despite the small amount of source material. My rehearsal yesterday ranged from a gorgeous meditation soundtrack played through shitty speakers on a busted radio to a whole orchestra of toys with dying batteries. Should be very fun.

I am so jealous of you guys and you're Pretty Years. Never should have traded mine.
