Mine was pretty easy. It was originally white so I just roughed it up a bit and did about 25 coats of paint.

Each coat was just literally a dusting though. I don't have a proper booth so the thin coats dried super fast and made the whole thing pretty damn easy.

about the finish though, not a stain, it's artist oil paint mixed with floor finish it's an idear I got from from this guy http://www.aesbass.com/handmadebasses.htm

I'm still not 100% on the wiring for the pickups.. I don't like the way duncan said to do it… might have to adjust.
