Have you A/B-ed this one against any comparable drives? I'm wondering specifically how it stacks up against the EQD Talons.

Haven't tried the Talons yet- I'll add it to the list.

The Alexander has a LOT of midrange with the contour knob so you definitely don't get buried in a mix.
I played it a few days ago in a live setting and it was reeeeally nice.

Very effective. I'm going to demo it on guitar as well but with the gain maxed it's pretty quiet.
