Random note: all those upright bass/ banjo / bowed strings samples just ignite the GAS for a new acoustic string instrument. Good work everybody, my track is gonna be a lot more "acoustic based" than the other years..

It's definitely nice having acoustic samples.
The soup that will be my track is getting towards simmering, puttering away a bit at the end of each night, so still a couple days away but all on schedule!

Hi everyone (but especially Heraclitus)
We've finished our track, definitely a lot more acoustic than usual; we're really pleased with it! Where should we put it? Do we put the files in our folder, or is there a folder for finished tracks? Thanks!

Whoops, forgot to say, we like the second image for the album cover as well (although the first one is good too!)

Hope to be go on saturday morning, fingers crossed.

There is now a finished tracks folder!
I know Paul had his complete track(s) in his name folder, so I moved those to the finished folder. Anyone else upload a final track already?
I'm holding off on listening to anyone else's 'til mine is done though!

I always find it super hard to start projects like this, going through each sample, decide what could work together and what not etc.. but once i start putting the track together i realize how much i enjoy it in reality
Still working on mine but the main structure is set, i should complete it by sunday, relisten a handful of times, and upload it before next wednesday.

I've been able to sneak in some time the last few nights and have a basic skeleton of the song but I need to work out a structure then mix and whatnot. Honestly hoping I can finish this weekend but idk if I'm gonna make it because this weekend is pretty busy with school and family in town. I was curious if Wednesday was the last final day to submit something? If it's Wednesday I should be able to get it in by then for sure.

I think we can say Wednesday is the deadline. Earlier is better, but Wednesday will do.

Life is throwing me a lot of curveballs lately (not all bad!), but I am ridiculously busy both at work and at home and there’s no way I will have a track ready in the foreseeable future. Apologies for backing out, but I’m glad people are enjoying the acoustic samples; very curious to have a listen to what you all put together

In a similar position! I found it annoying compiling the samples I was going to use and then loading them onto my octatrack but as soon as I started playing I got the bones of something nice, and I'm putting down more layers today and enjoying it a lot, loving the source material and the sampling fun.

Still in process here too. Samples chopped. Some processed, but lots more to do still. Plenty of ideas for experiments. It's going to get messy here. Full mad scientist preparations. Got a lab coat somewhere...
Time is an issue here as well. Work is killing me. Band preparing for an upcoming show. Trying to get home projects done outside before the weather turns. Etc.
Some really great samples in the pool. Like almost too many. A good problem for sure.
