than that is the most backhanded way of apologizing to anyone. Rather, it appears to be an "apology" to a general area/group/etc. It's pretty clear to most that an apology to someone should be and always is directed at the person him/herself in name. I didn't know understanding how to apologize to someone specific was rocket science.

Unless it done by somebody not from this forum?? Then would it be different and not "funny?" I find trolls to be entirely NOT funny in the least bit. Very immature and mental age telling. And insulting trolls? They get exactly what they deserve, whether you think its "cool" or not.

When I originally followed his link, I had no idea that 1. Roseweave was LR Weizel on HCFX, and 2. that he started that thread specifically to "bring out the haters" on that board.

Yes, I thought then - and still think now, especially knowing now what I do about his trolling - that the post was a legit post that was trying to show some type of tone that was supposed to be awesome. However, to me and my ears, as well as many others (that you guys apparently think are snobs), the guitar playing got in the way of really showing what kind of "tone" was trying to be shown. I'm sorry, but I actually at first turned it off and didn't listen to the whole thing because the playing was so...amateurish. I then went back and listened to the whole thing. I still believe the playing to be just that.

And now knowing that the post was simply trolling to begin with, I really have no respect for the original post.

Once you've been part of staff on a forum, you can just ignore the trolling.

thank you for accepting my apology. i go by teh AA conditions for apologies: i have to offer it whether you will accept or not.

This thread to me shows we can be as bad as hcfx at times. But does that mean all threads and members are the same? no. And I'm sure hcfx isn't bad all the time either, I know I've traded with quite a few nice fellows over there. Personally I'm uncomfortable with spreading the name ILF over there saying we're better than their forum. Or whatever it was, but I specifically remember seeing ILf being mentioned and compared to hcfx.

Trolling or whatever the hell its called should be done independently IMO.

even on its worst days ILF is better than HCFX & all of other forums, at least discussion and good vibes-wise. what i don't like is how HCFX negative vibes spills over here and then you have threads like this:

seriously. i did not listen to the clip but do you seriously fault someone for getting mad becuz people raggged on their clip. it is natural. either the person is going to get mad or they are going to look w/in themselves and see how they can improve. or get mad and then see how they can improve.

i had an excellent trade w/ an HCFX person for an used ILF pedal so i cannot complain. & their money pit pedal boards are very amusing. to be sure. but filtering and discourse wise? i mean forget it. i would be banned in like a week or something.

Alright..I've been wanting to say something like this for quite awhile now, and this is my excuse to do it so here goes.

I'm pretty new here, but from the moment I signed up and started reading the posts, I noticed something. There didn't seem to be any kind of adverse stuff going on. "Hmm," I thought to myself, "That's pretty odd." (This is the internet after all ) As I kept reading, I noticed the same trend: Helpful people helping other people who are helpful to OTHER people, encouraging each other and generally going out of their way to be nice. You guys have created a nice, stable community around something that we all love, and that's pretty rare these days. (Again, this is the internet.) A few days after I joined here, I joined Harmony-Central, and I mostly hang out in the effects forum. For the most part, everyone seems to be nice over there, too, with a few exceptions. I did notice, however, that when someone starts arguing, everyone picks a side and it develops into a massive war, with no end in immediate sight. I'm not saying ILF is better or worse thatn HCFX over all, (personally I do like it better, but that's my opinion ) but I generally find this place to be a lot nicer.

ILF is a very tight-knit community, which causes me to worry. If we were to all start hating each other, then I feel like the board would split into two factions, and one opinion or the other would be completely pushed off the boards, with whoever left being very hostile and unwilling to accept newcomers as easily.

I guess my point is that everybody needs to relax. You guys have put together one of the nicest places on the internet to come talk about music, and I really don't want to see that go away. I hope that ILF continues to grow and stay in it's present, happy-go-lucky state. You guys are awesome, fuzzy, and encouraging to me and everyone else that comes here. Also, you guys have a Hobbes emote. That's fucking awesome.

I'm not trying to stir up anything, or force my opinion on everybody, I'm just saying what's on my mind.



tl;dr: You guys are cool, I like you, don't turn this place into an evil pit of hate.

Do I even want to know?
