As for my gear goalz, I'm not really sure. I'm still happy with what I have, and sometimes wonder if I even need it all. New album is taking shape nicely, and I feel like I am able to do everything I want to with just a few of the pedals I have. Sorry, Sharky.

Maybe you could get me to gas for something? What would you like to see me own?
My interest is peaked by some of the stuff Drod has been talking about building though, small solid state amps in particular. Would still like to try a EHX 16 second delay or some vaiant thereof as well.
Oh, and there's a few people I've been talking about collaborating with musically, hope to get some more projects going next year.
I would like to see you collaborate more. That sounds great. Drod is always cooking up cool stuff. I’m really not an “amp guy” but would love another small solid state thing. These days my lunchbox amp gets the most use.
I would like to see you get more into software and make some oscillating fuzz meets footwork/juke/night-core choons.
If you are considering a delay, Imthink you would get a lot of mileage out of a time factor. I scored one this year for $180. No regrets. Only get it if you can get it that cheap.

1) I'm set on pedals with the sole exception that the RM-1N I paid for nearly a year ago still hasn't arrived. This is not a jab at Industrialectric. They sent it out a long while ago, but the post office never managed to get it to its intended location and they've been fighting Canada Post to fix things, and mostly continuing to communicate with me. I'm frustrated, but only with the situation, not with them. Figures it would happen with literally the last pedal for my board.
2) I need to overcome the minor obstacles that have been preventing me from finishing my Telecaster build for the last year or more. I have this pesky fucking screw embedded in the back of my body with its head snapped off, that I can't for the life of me figure out how to safely extract, which is holding everything up. And I need help figuring out my ambitious wiring plan.
3) I need to upgrade my actual board, either by building one myself or figuring out how to afford to hire someone to do it for me, since there's clearly nothing stock on the market that suits my needs. Any of you downsizers who find yourselves no longer needing massive custom-made boards, hit me up.
4) I want to upgrade the other two speakers in my Quad Reverb. After blowing two of them, I upgraded to much heavier duty Celestion Redbacks, but I really should swap out the other two working speakers for two more.
5) I need to get back in touch with Blk/Tri to figure out how to get them one of my Frost Giants for repairs/upgrades, so I can finish upgrading my SG.
All seems reasonable and doable. Did we ever talk about Philly? What neighborhood are you in and do you play out ever?

I’m quite pleased with Marshmallow myself. That and the Behringer Model D. Whoa! Any synth really. Warp on a pitch shifter pedal is so special.
If you can find a good deal.... get the Geiger Pro. My only issue with it is, it was supposed to kill my dirt lust... it didn’t. It that’s on me

Yes, you really need to win the lottery so you can do this. Did you post in my ridiculous sampler thread? Don’t answer... I’ll look. Curious to hear what your dreM team would be. 2019 was an amazing sampler year for me. Got my two dream ones and both together were like... $300. I’m very happy. Except now, apparently I want an OG octatrack

Are you in Philly too? For some reason I thought you lived in Jersey. Anyway, I'm in the Walnut Hill area in West Philly. The last show I played was in 2015, but I'm hoping to be playing out a lot more soon. That show was Kadis-kot's first and last, and we broke up shortly thereafter because the other bassist and I weren't seeing eye to eye. The next band I was in practiced for three years, under less than ideal conditions (the drummer and I had a baby together right at the onset, and our bassist was learning to play her instrument as we went), and ultimately broke up without recording anything or playing any shows. I've only been playing with my current band for about six months, and we have 15 minutes of music so far (which is the more impressive way of saying we have two songs done), so I think we'll start playing shows once we finish our next song. Things are still a little slow-going because the drummer and I are still parenting a toddler and our bassist is pretty busy also playing in Witching, but muuuuch smoother and faster than the last band. I'll make sure to post to the music board when we have recordings or shows lined up. We're still finalizing our name, but the current front-runner is Dark Leaves as Maps.

I gave both Hax 2 and Geiger Counter Civilian Issue some thought, went on Reverb and bought myself a . . .
Yellowcake Lida Machine.
This is because I'm thinking of balancing (or putting to one side for a while) the Sonic Koalas screeches and squawks with some more "properly musical" ambient nonsense. I will have to get myself another Particle or maybe something more simple to have more delay options but otherwise I'm done*
*I'll never be done.

It never ends.
Actually, in a rare case of being rational, decided I can do without the octatrack. I’m sorry Trem.

I am from Jersey but I go to shows mainly in Philly and have friends in the music scenes. In fact, I saw WITCHING a couple weeks ago! They played with ELIZABETH COLOUR WHEEL (highly recommended holy shit), BIG BRAVE, and PRIMITIVE MAN. My friend, is actually friends with your bassist! Small world!

Like moving my huge drawing table and setting up the scattered drum kit in that corner. To that end I will need to buy some stands (snare, hi-hat) though, as well as cymbals. At least a pair of hats and a good ride.
Always meaning to buy more mics and a better pre/comp/interface too.
Basically I want to be able to record drums and bass to tape, export to PC, process and then back to tape for guitar/vocals. Something like that. Pivoting towards a future of more home recording and less jamming with people, as that has proven unproductive.
Guess those are sort of goals.
Actually, those are super reasonable and doable. Workflow is a very real thing. When we get married you can have whatever room you want for this.
Are you worried about acoustic treatment and/or neighbors? Regardless, post picks when you have it set up, please. I’d love to see what you come up with. What are you using for a DAW now?
Yo, sorry for calling you a liar, all in jest m8! But yeah, let's kiss and marry if I'm ever in Vegas. Or Philly. Isn't like half this forum situated thereabouts anyway?
I don't even have a DAW at home, I'm a 4-track goblin. At the jam space we use ProTools, but as I alluded to I'm not really happy with the results or rather - the workflow - there.
Not too worried about neighbors, there's plenty of space around me and concrete walls. But I'll have to insulate a bit, drums are loud... I'll post pics when it's set up but it will probably take another year.

I was in the same boat about a decade ago - however we were both being pressured to “invite more people” etc. As long as you’re both happy with it as opposed to caving to family interference you should be fine. I think we both wish we had told certain family members (who didn’t actually pay for anything) where to stuff it. But we were the first of our friends/siblings to get married and didn’t really think “small” was feasible. And our wedding was SMALL, we had like 60 people and that felt overcrowded.
MrNovember wrote: we keep running into situations where we would do a small reno, but likely wouldn't add any value to the house when we sell it.
I feel like if you live in the GTA any house is going to hold value with or without the reno - most people are just gutting completely anyway so anything like a kitchen is not going to add anything. We’ve done all wiring, new panel, water heater, new plumbing, new kitchen, stripped all wallpaper off every surface (even the ceilings!!!!), new bathroom, new windows, new back deck, new shed..... it’s been great for us because we bought a real haunted shithole (aka “fixer upper”) but we’ll likely never be able to move. Good thing I love my haunted creepy noise basement!
Ours is going to be max 140 if everyone accepts the invite, which is actually much smaller than I was expecting. There's also a few people we might not invite and quite a few coming from out-of-province or out-of-country that might not be able to make it, so I'm guessing it'll be closer to the 110-120 mark. And there's actually been very little pressure from family members regarding everything too, which is actually pretty surprising as well. Overall, it's been pretty smooth to plan, but the venue we picked does pretty much everything so that really helps (decor, food, dj, officiant, flowers, setup, and shuttle service).
And yeah, I'd love to redo our kitchen and both bathrooms, but they're all pretty decently done already, so it wouldn't be worth the money. The next house we get is going to probably be a full reno. I'm excited because we've agreed that we need a proper detached work space in addition to a garage (I want to get into wood and metal work and she wants to do pottery).

Of course, I was in jest 2 m8. #banterbros
I get it. I’m reading this as you’re super efficient and kind of just want the bare bones. Albini influence?
Fellow 4 track goblin here. I feel you on Pro Tools. My best friend is actually proficient at it. I love learning but... for the choons I want to make.... no way I’m learning that

Not a dig on it. Just a lifestyle choice. So I get where you’re coming from.
