I could imagine modulating the gain with an LFO and making a tremolo from it. Practical? No. Fun? Hell yeah.

He said he had the New Vintage amp turned really clean, so he takes it as a big compliment that people were asking if the amp was already dirty.

So yeah - should be a really dirty, sick pedal!

Also, there's this!

Yeah, the few clips all have the same character, so I have strong faith this is mainly the pedal sound. Excited to hear more.
that rules!

In the YouTube clips, the Analog Drive seems kind of weak and muffled. It's not punchy or bright. The Brothers seems to have more body. I fear the Analog Drive may be one of these pedals that's adequate at 10 things, but not exceptional at any of them. ---Having been friends with an engineer for about 15 years, I've heard a lot of gain devices on the bench, so a lot of stuff doesn't wow me, but I thought the Brothers definitely had some character (based on one short sampling). ---Of course I've not played the Heat, the Analog Drive, or the Brothers, so it's tough to grade any of them without hands-on experience. Good luck with your drive search.

Good summary! On the Knobs demo, someone made a similar comment about the Elektron Analog Drive (about it being muffled). Knobs said it was their EQ choices, but even so it could just be a dark circuit.

Also, the Elektron is a little more than Brothers ($379), it's not a dual gain pedal, and has a 12V 1A center positive power inlet. But to your point, I can't knock it too much since I haven't played it. All things considered, the Brothers is lookin' like my next gain.

Sounds good, but not quite as great as the other sound bites. I tend to favor uglier tones though. And that is on the floor of a trade show with a probably terrible playback/record situation. That fuzz gate was tight and clean though. A gate on/off switch would be cool, even if it's a midi exclusive option or trim adjust.

Curious to hear more as usual.

I say though too much

For those of us that *could* remove $150-300 worth of dirt on our boards for this I assume $350 isn't that bad, but I'm certainly not going to be fussing with dipswitches. A pedal spirit-brother of mine across town is absolutely flipping his shit about this and has immediately started to consider what he can do to obtain it.

MORE interesting than another TS-9, less interesting (to me) than modulation/time effects.
