Not what I'm looking for, but that's awesome!
And also not available around here.
Around here store think that everybody want an LP, a strat or a tele or some ESP or Ibanez to play metal.

well they gotta stick with the basics that everyone knows when the population density is much lower so they don't end up sitting on stock.

Syl, would you face the same import duties from the UK? And would you be down to buy without trying from the UK? I really like the looks of Odessa and Alpher in the UK.

Thanks all!
Yes I would have same duties.
I wrote a message to a guy who live here in Quebec City who is friend with a luthier in the USA (Kauer Guitars).
I noticed this guy on Reverb yesterday. He gave me his phone number so we could chat. Not sure they'll have something at the price I'm willing to pay (let's see).
There is also someone here in Canada who could build me something... but for my budget he would only be able to have an oiled finish.
What you guys think about a guitar with an oiled finish? The feeling of the neck? Is it resistent over the years?

I love oiled finishes. If they wear through, you can just re-oil them.

Kosta, I just chatted with a guy here in Quebec City who purchase a lot of guitars in the USA.
For a 2000$ guitar shipping is around 150$ then we have to add 20% for custom fees and then around 500$ or more for broker fees.
I'll meet this guy tomorrow... he purchase and sell guitars.

Shit, a round trip to Canada is less than that. Buy someone a ticket and have them deliver you a guitar.

My personal experience bringing guitars into Canada is that I've just had to pay 12% tax. Granted they haven't been shipped directly to me, I've picked them up in the US and drove across the border.
A trip to NYC to go guitar shopping sounds like the best option to me.
