Trent Reznor - More annoying than Corgan???

Goodness no. Didn't mean to imply Corgan is better than Reznor. I just said he wasn't "that" annoying in that 'one' interview I read. I don't think either are annoying. They're musicians in popular culture zeitgeist. They like to give statements. It's part of the deal to maintain your personal brand. SLEIGH BELLS does it too.

And Trent is just having hard time. I hope he cheers up.

Corgan. I mean, Smashing Pumpkins only made one good album (IMNSHO), "Gish." But it's so fucking good it stands tall as one of the best records of all time, still. From what I've been told, he's basically the whole band on that album, too. Reznor's got two songs, "Suck" (which is better with Pigface) and "Dead Soldiers" which is also a cover (although, admittedly and begrudingly, superior to the original).

Oh, and that one about a pig. I dig that one.

So, total worth of output is Corgan with a full album to a handful of not even his songs.

Matter of fact, I'm gonna go stream Gish now.

I actually saw these guys twice. They're a really fun live act, but yeah not really a huge fan of their music.

As far as Reznor v. Corgan, I have no clue. Both have done/said things that annoy me, but both are musicians....blah blah blah....I really don't care, I like both of their music

I kind of lost interest in NIN for a while. I got back into them only because of Cortini's excellent releases on Hospital Productions. His most recent work (Cortini) is amazing. D.o.S. I think you would like the stuff he put out on MakeNoise records.

Cortini is one of the reasons I got into NIN after hearing some of his live performances. His Make Noise releases are pretty great. I saw him live last year and it was probably one of the best shows I've seen

I'm kind of kicking myself for not going to his latest show in NYC. He did that new act with 8mm films and an EMS Synthi. 1. To see Cortini 2. Maybe more so, to hear a Synthi in the flesh 3. BOTH!

I hate getting to and from New York so I didn't go. I hate it so much. I remember seeing WOLF EYES having a great time and realizing I had to drive home through Manhattan...on a Saturday night...during the holidays. It ruined me ha-ha.

Do you listen to SURACHAI? I've been really digging his work lately. He puts a lot of thought into his visuals too which I appreciate.

One of my favorite Cortini projects is SKARN. Really nasty "minimal" techno (please pardon my 'buzz word'). He only uses a few machines but I think one of them is that metasonix tube drum machine so that is unreal price wise (not that a TR 909 isn't). So when I say 'nasty' it more the beats than the basses.

Last note, he has his own label now. LIMITED INTEREST. I haven't seen any rips or uploads (haven't checked either) and I don't by tapes anymore. I will check out and report back.

Bloatedsack, my new friend. GISH was always my favorite Pumpkins release. My friends and I got in the. Like two years after they broke up the first time. I would have been 9 or 10? My buddy actually made a ZWAN fan site in 2000 or 1999 (when making a website actually required some effort). Apparently (allegedly?) Corgan E-mailed him and only had nice things to say about it and was grateful. All history. No way the site is up anymore.

Gish was lifechangingly good. My love of Pumpkins ended on release day for Siamese Dream at the start of track #3.
