No, the pedal really does sound like that. I tried one at a Guitar Center in Grand Rapids, and I couldn't get a really nice sound out of it. Really, it's one of those things you use for the into to, like, 1 song, or maybe an interlude/noise section, but it really does sound like that. The "blend" knob has a very small range.
Everyone I showed it to said it didn't sound like that...
They must just be mad because they spent their lifesavings on a mint one.

That was a rage a few years back.
Putting 2x 8’ speakers in the cab, because of the height you could do that. Just move the reverb tank from the fron to the bottom and cut a baffle board.

How can you tell it's 2 x 8?

Hey it sounded like I knew what I was talking about.
I was just going by the cabinet size it does look like a Showman or Bandmaster reverb size and didn’t look tall enough for a 10”.
Forgot about Super Champs, haven’t seen one in years. Neat little amps.

Mascis is playing tricks on us again!
So, what are these 2 x 8 mods that everyone used to love? Do they just make you sound tighter?

Actually it all started as a way to make a Bandmaster reverb into a lighter combo.
It kind of spun off of the Vibro-Clone rage,
which was to make a 1x15 combo from the Bandmaster reverb.
There were even black Vibro-Clone face plates made up.
Ah the quest for Stevie Ray’s tone.
Anyway.. Some one put 2x8” speakers into their head so they wouldn’t need to drag a cabinet along to practice, or for low volume playing at home, don’t remember the exact story. They posted on one of the amp boards and bunches of people had to copy it.
Of course that was when silver face Fenders, especially Bandmasters and Showmen (Showmans?) could be had for $150-$250 and were “mod bait”.
