They could have at least modeled some nice bias/headroom/starve thing in there and I would have been interested but as is... meh.
This is what I was thinking, too. 3 band EQ is the only thing they could think of to use those three knobs for? OK...'drive/gain,' 'volume'....now what? Bias/starve/sag/grit? Pulsewidth? Contour? How about an additive dirt pedal that goes crazy on even-order harmonics? One that adds some 14kz crystal lettuce? SO BORING

Even a sweep able mid would be awesome. Frequency and cut/boost and then sag or something cool

There is literally no reason that the secondary function for the mids knob should not be to select the center frequency. They really got lazy with this one, didn't they? Clearly targeting a market that wants everything done for them, rather than one that likes to tweak for specific tones...

Why mess with formulated success?

I've been wondering for a while if Strymon would actually go into the dirt world... I've always thought it'd be a terribly idiotic idea. People really seem to have very few issues with modeling if it's aiming to capture delay/reverb/modulation, but try it with drive and you're going to met with a wall of naysaying, and with good reason. Why would you spend 300 bucks on a modeled overdrive when there are tons of actual analog options for the same price or less?

As for the Metal Zone, I've been a defender on here many a time. Slaughter of the Soul. Also sounds RAD on synth. Alright, back to work.

Granted, we do the same for Montreal Assembly and Smallsound/Bigsound on this board. everybody's got their thing, but it is fun to mock the other camps.
Do we? I love a good arbitrary straw man as much as the next guy but I'm prettu sure that's hilariously incorrect.
I think so, yeah. It's a matter of scale, but we're still drooling over stuff in the same way. Same process, different direction.

Sadly, it's also a "city" in "California"
Riverside is a "city" in "California" that the "Beat Farmers" wrote a "song" about, which sounds "pretty much" like the Strymon's "tones" but without a $300 "pedal".
 Sorry, I was trying not to disturb the house in the early A.M. & couldn't crank the youtube, though my idiocy in general will probably eke me into deadbeat dad rock sooner than later (apologies also to the Beat Farmers, The Beatnuts, Beech Nuts & that band The Beets, also/maybe beets in general). Good tune (peace to crazy baldhead Pete Celi, too).

Also, do you think if everyone here, TGP & Talkbass pooled our finances, we could buy out Strymon & sell them to Behringer? :idk:

It doesn't, but only because that's how I imagine you acting pretty much all the time.
