B&H jumped the gun and took it down, but was listed at $199.

Is there anywhere with a summary of what's being rolled out?

I looked and I haven't really found anything beyond that DJ controller, the boss thing, and mentions of system 8/tb-03/tr-09. And that accordion I learned about in this thread. The Reddit is really lame and not informative (at least 2 hours ago).

Actually, reverb has some ok coverage.

So the Tb and tr reissues are analog (and hybrid for tr) recreations kinda korg style?

Nice, if so. The extra midi to USB ports in the tr seem like a nice idea. If they really are point for point with updated control, count me in probably. Sounds cool to me.

Omg that AE-10..... I have good feelings about that one.

Is it just me or did Roland do everything Gibson hasn't all the sudden?

The sax Aerophone thing?

Haha, I just saw that.

Any samples out there of the TR-09 yet? Looks dope. Hope doesn't suck.

Also is it totally digital? Because ugh.

EDIT: nm, figured it out. Will be fun to play with the control surface, but pity it seems to just be a VST in a box. :idk:

That reverb article I read said it was a point for point replica with modern connectivity....misleading if it is a vst like the previous boutique...but I should've guessed haha.

Eh, oh well, back to better things anyway.

Yeah I've had a hard time finding a good, direct statement from Roland confirming that they're digital emulations, but every single comment thread I find seems to indicate that it's exactly that. Didn't sound like conjecture either, more that I was just missing some list of specs somewhere.

Uses the ARIA engine...just looked at the reverb article again...and either I missed it (despite re reading it several times) or they updated it for clarity.

They left the point to point description in which is a dumb way to describe a digital emulation (even if they are modeling down to the littlest component).

I really didn't like the way the digital boutiques sounded at NAMM...I was kinda hoping they'd give korg some competition.

And freaking reverb needs to learn how to write if they want to drive gear sales with "information".

No specs or other info.

Photos from the livestream look nearly identical to the GT-001's LCD, which means no FX loop (which the GT-100 has).

Pausing the video I saw no loop, no MIDI din. The lower price makes me think a crippled version of the 100 and 001 engine. Unless it does have the full engine, hard pass. And even then I would hope for class-compliant MIDI-over-USB and give a long thought before buying.

I just got a mailer from Musician's Friend, which confirms specs and pricing. The System-8 is $1499 (huge fucking fail). The TR-09 and TB-03 are both digital ( :picard: ).

Did anyone really think that Roland wouldn't fuck this up? Rooting for Roland is like rooting for Charlie Brown to finally kick that damn football----because you know that Lucy is always going to pull it away at the last second.

To me the most interesting release of the day was the Aerophone, but unfortunately for Roland, 99% of their customers won't be buying it. ---I also enjoyed watching the accordion shredders on YouTube, but that won't get any of my dollars. Those $$$s will continue to go to Yamaha and Korg.

The TR-09 and TB-03 make me bummed, mostly because early reports have the price point at €450, which is like... i could get a Tanzmaus and a TT-303 for less than that and have analog clones (or in the dancing mouse's case, a unit that is heavily inspired by it). And i'm not an analog purist by any means, but just, why? Of any two units that have been done to fucking death with digital/VST clones & samples.

Then again, the JU-06 and JX-03 are supposed to be wonderful and keep sorta tempting me.

See my post above. MF has these listed for pre-ordering. I find the prices very high, considering we're shopping in a post-Minilogue world. Roland has way too much capital and production power to fuck this up year after year. Their decision makers are fucking idiots. Why would anyone buy these, when there are analog clones and cheaper digital versions? (because they say Roland on the case and basically no other reason) The System-8 blew my mind with that $1499 price tag. Why wouldn't I just buy a Dave Smith? For $1499 you could get an iPad, Minilogue, and something else (Erica Acidbox, Minibrute, Streichfett). In terms of their synth offerings, the VP-03 was probably the coolest thing they showed off all day. Of course at $349, I'd prefer a Streichfett as a strings fan. It's got a lot more sounds in the same price range. ---Of course if you don't already have a vocoder and a sequencer, that's much different.
