Double Also the new Nadja (they don't really count in this but they kind of do, I think) is fucking amazing:

still... OMG might be one of my favourites. FUCK.

That bass tone, that voice. That band is genuinely amazing

And they are the funniest band to follow on Facebook, too

That fake feud with that festival over booking was pretty hilarious!

I just want to say that i found a photo of me wearing an OCEAN (the good one not the european one) hoodie with my messenger bag with both PELICAN and ISIS and as a bonus COMBAT WOUNDED VETERAN buttons. Also I'm making some weird finger mustache thing. So basically I'm king of this thread.

Oh also if you like OCEAN THE NOT EUROPEAN ONE members of that were also in CONIFER who were really good

Oh also ELODEA were really good but i don't think anyone ever found out about them because they were from some weird country or something....

If you can find it the Conifer/Ocean split is really good.

Total bias here 'cause I'm a nerd.

While I'm trying to find my copy of that, you can look at this.

The Ocean Collective is one thing, but I've actually not heard of Ocean. Where should I start?

totally agreed.
One of the last bands with a genuine HUGE PUNCH IN THE FACE that doesn't sound fake or copied.
Uh, To Carry the Flame has probably one of the heaviest attacks ever heard.

To Carry The Flame is insane, yep

also... the Seminar III: Zozobra album. I was very lucky to find one on vinyl for a really good price and it's matching with my copy of Seminar II. It's an experience for sure

not bragging or anything

and yeah, to me, they are one of the bands that don't sound fake at all. Not even convoluted, despite all the tongue in cheek shit and nonsensical noise tracks and stuff. It all seems very natural and organic and heart-felt and I appreciate that immensely

As a semi related side note, Zozobra's Savage Masters will kick your dick in every time you spin it.

I hype myself up before exams by listening to Savage Masters quite often :thumb:

Either of their full-lengths: Here Where Nothing Grows or Pantheon of the Lesser. Pantheon has one of my favorite drum sounds of all time, incidentally.

So it just took, what, six years of endless hype for more than two other ILFers to check them out?

I was really disappointed with their volume when I saw them in Boston, but apparently they have been great elsewhere, so.

:idk: I've seen Boris in that room and they were pretty comparable in volume, although their sound doesn't swallow you up like boris's does
