Get my Sound City 50r running healthy with a new looong spring tank.

Use the same pedals all year (tuner, rat, pbj delay, looper).

Get back into dub mixing.

Trade out my DD-20 for a DD-500, trade out my Headrush for a Ditto x2, finally get my Fuck fixed, string up one of my basses to A tuning, and get some flats for my Jack Cassady.

My biggest sound-based goal for 2016 is the same as last year:

Accrue just enough delay-line looping equipment to comfortably perform live solo accompaniment
while screening some of the animations that I've made. Of course I still want need/want to finish
up a few other animations that are in the works or in the planning/imagining stage. And then there
is the huge hurdle of finding the right venue (cheap, but with good atmospherics) for this type of
screening/musical event.

I'm already signed up for the next CT5 run and I have my eye on the Boss DD-500 and have been
thinking about things like the Switchblade 8F as ways to help me with my 2016 Sound Goals.

Of course the last time I performed live music to accompany two of my short animations I just used
a Boss RC-3, a Rat and an Ibanez DDL-10 Digital Delay II. Things worked out pretty well with just that.

Real and actual needs:

*Better home recording equipment/audio interface for my computer
*More time practicing and writing
*More time looking for opportunities to gig/perform
*More fuzz (that's a necessity, right?)
;)

1. I've never had a tube amp and am pondering a '65 PRRI. I've read that the '68 is a great with pedals but I don't want an amp that breaks up that early. Problem is, none of the GCs around here have the '65 in for me to demo.

2. And sell a bunch of pedals I don't use very often.

Same. I don't really need or want any gear.

No reason why those have to be mutually exclusive. :hobbes:

Ok, I'll play...

Not so much a "toan goal", but I plan on trying yet another muff style fuzz. Never managed to really bonde with any of the muffs I tried. So next up is either a decent ram's head clone, or an IC muff of some sort.

Same deal with looper. Bought a bunch of different loopers in the past, only to flip em cause they annoy the crap out of me. Plan on trying a ditto X2 now, figure if it doesn't inspire me make decent tunes, it should at least come in handy for the little noise rig I've got in mind. Come to think of it, I guess that would be my toan goal: Noise.

This.

Can't say it's an actual goal, cause I've run out of monies, and I don't wanna sacrifise any of my current amps, but I'd fucking love one of those old stupid loud musicman heads, the HD130 or 150. The prices seem stupid inflated nowadays too though :(

Honestly Positive Grid Bias has pretty much replaced my physical amps for recording and probably for practice in the future since I'll be moving into a one bedroom apartment in the frozen wastes of the north.

Same here but, this year I am determined to get my hands on a Peavey classic 120/120 to run bias into.
Maybe a couple peavey 215's as well.

Stop buying for-repair SS amps & guitars, consolidate/sell all of my crap/flux amps & build a proper rig that a) won't break my back or b) the bank (maybe?), build a smaller rig for bedroom-only listening/hideaway bed-style (sell some furniture? build some furniture? convert some furniture?), ideally invest in a lighter guitar (EGC or that St. Vincent EB) so I can spend less time at the chiropractor in the next 20 years, learn to be more fluent w/ digital workstations instead of just tapes, be online less & practice more, &

The big one for me is to get a new board and PSU. while everything still fits on my Cheepy SKB, im running five wall warts. i feel its beyond time to bite the bullet on that one.

other goals:
find a modulation pedal i can like for more then three months
get a Bass six or eb-0
get a fender
make a good video demo
get better at soldering
learn circuit/PCB design

for the guy above, make sure you get a 30-40w iron with a stand and it should be upgraded with a thin tip.
For Weller soldering stations the ST6 works really well for pedals and other small connections.
Also a few light scrapes with a razor blade is great for tinning the tip.
also get yourself a solder sucker and a small fan to divert the fumes.

Anyway, man this is my kind of thread. Tone resolutions.
Man I have so many projects happening. Here are ones that come to mind.
I need to :
-finish repairing that 60s Harmony Rocket I picked up on CL a few years back,
-Fix the 70s Acoustic 120b that I bought when working. As far as I know It just needs a power capacitor and a new grounded plug. I need to get on that shit.
-BYOC OD2 kit that I REALLY need to build
-a big box Pulsar that needs repair. I bought it broken and I was trying to add an expression control for the rate.

I would also like to sell off half of my guitar collection.
Heres to everyone getting to where they want to be!

A pedal that instantly turns your guitar into plastic?!

Seriously though, set your sights on a Dan Armstrong if you want that tone. It's the guitar that gets those weird buzzsaw tones. Not the Peavey PA and not the Roland pre-amp.
