It's probably just the weirdo speaking, but the aspect of crayons in the design seems to me like a put down to the end user. Unless, of course, crayons have suddenly been embraced as a tool with artistic merit.

I don't know. Crayons, like pens or pencils or markers, are just tools. It's all about how you use them that counts.

Marvelous point. Is that graphic crayon based? It's quite fetching.
My weirdo is just an ass hole sometimes.

That is an Anti-Nautilus, which is made by Sonic Crayon.
I don't think that people consider it a "toy for kids" just
because the word "Crayon" is in the company name.
But what do I know?

The name of the company that makes the pedal is Sonic Crayon.
They'll never be made again so don't look up the pedals.

Crayons are easy to use and colorful. I think it's implied that the pedal is easy to use and colorful in it's tonal range. Either way they're pretty bland sounding to me.

Liked 'em better when Leah was in the band.

Likewise. Took me a hot minute to find a clip with that iteration.

Don't look 'em up huh? Ah fair enough, I prefer working in a fog anyway. Seriously didn't mean to put down crayons here. Apologies to all involved.
Back to your previously scheduled programming!

Well, we'd have to cut through all the hate I cooked up over that crayon put down first.
Sounds like a job for a nice stout beer.

I kinda like the looks of JHS pedals and that makes me hate the company even more.

WL mag: When did you decide to start a business making pedals?
JHS: It actually has a lot to do with ministry. I was a full time worship pastor in a church in Jackson, MS and we felt that God was calling us to IHOP in Kansas City. This was a year long process of transition and in that time my mods and custom built’s started to really gather a following and become a part time job. So I resigned, we moved and the pedal business exploded into a full time job. It felt like Divine plan.
WL mag: When someone hears “JHS” what do you want them to know about you as a company?
JHS: I think the industry is filled with a lot of the same things with different labels, and we’re trying to be different. We’ve found a niche where you either love them, hate them, or haven’t heard of them. I would like for people to identify us with quality products, excellent service and innovative ideas.
WL Mag: How does your background in worship ministry affect the pedal making business?
JHS: I’ve been a worship leader for about ten years now, and pedal making actually came as a random transition for me, I went from worship leading full time into the guitar industry. We love Kansas City, we love IHOP, we’ve just seen a shift in our ministry to the business side rather than directly inside the church. Right now we are getting directly involved in funding several mission works in the 10-40 window and JHS as a whole is really hitting it’s stride as far as business as a ministry.

So after reading that, please -- by all means -- continue to talk about how you're tired of the JHS hate on ILF and that you back them and that they're a great company and "fight me". Your constant state of ignorance and agitation is kind of adorbz.
Otherwise, kindly shut the fuck up when you don't know what you're talking about.

Wow, I have to say that I find this extremely interesting and refreshingly enlightening when it comes to a topic that has always frustrated me due to its vagueness. I wasn't around for the beginning of all the JHS hate, and honestly it always sort of baffled me. I don't particularly like his pedals—I think the only really interesting thing he's made is the Colour Box (and subsequently it's the only one I own). That said, the bashing over him using other people's circuits, etc has always really thrown me off, seeing that the pedal industry seems so based on modifying if not simply replicating classic designs. I always thought—why don't people who make TS9 clones get hated on more, then? Tonebenders? Muffs? If copying circuits is so deplorable, then why do we get furious about people who goop their boards? And while we're getting mad about people who steal other people's ideas, should we avoid Jimmy Page and Keith Richards? Rock n' Roll in general? It all seemed so fucking tiring. I get it, but I guess I've just never been willing to go that all in on the authenticity debate. Now, Devi not delivering on the Console—that seems like much more of a clear reason for people to get pissed. I guess I felt like when it came to JHS, I didn't really know enough specifics to form an educated opinion.
Beyond that, as someone who's hasn't been on ILF for long, I always found the anti-religion angle much more confusing. Being an agnostic at best, I understand the dislike, but I sometimes got the impression that people were avoiding these companies simply because they were Christian... there wasn't a lot of explanation as to why, so you'll have to forgive me for sometimes thinking it came off as a bit narrow minded.
This quote kinda blew it all open for me, though. I'm from Jackson, MS, and the absolutely mind-blowing level of some of the fundamentalist idiocy that goes on there is precisely what made me anti-establishment and generally terrified of religion. It's my home and I'm glad I'm from there, but to say I have a love-hate relationship with it wouldn't really even begin to cover things. Hearing that JHS has some beginnings in the evangelical religious community there... well it changes everything for me.
So anyway, that got rambly, but thank you for providing some more info there. I personally needed to hear it.
