I'm intrigued by the DD-500.
Too bad none of the demos so far have shown any of the more in-depth tweaking of parameters
that's available. That's what I'm mostly interested in.

Someone should poke at the right people to send one to Knobs.

^As much as I love knobs, and as much as I like Boss delays, I wouldn't support this.
Why you ask? Well the DD-500 looks bitchin', but it's not anywhere knobs' demographic. He does super cool and artsy videos for (relatively) small-scale builders utilizing quirky, organic sounding pedals. Usually ones where the only other demos are by the builders themselves. A factory-production digital delay with an LED panel doesn't really fit in with the back-catalog. I think the only "fancy" delay I could see him demoing is the El Cap, and I don't see him ever demoing a Strymon, that market is pretty flooded already.
Again - love knobs, love Boss, but I don't want to see them in the same video.

The number 4 is unlucky in Japan, so no Roland product has ever been that model number.

one better!
Too true.
The probable reason for this is that one of the words for 4 (yeah, there are actually two words for both 4 and 7, even though one of them is used most of the time, and I won't even start with the obscene amount of words used to count things

) is "shi" (四). And another word that is pronounced like that means "death" (死). Hence the lack of number 4 in a number of things in Japan...
Anyway, the DD-500 looks interesting. It won't replace my DD-20 and the next delay I buy will be the 4MS dual looper eurorack module but it seems to have lots of cool options, probably a great choice for people who want to buy a delay pedal...

Thanks dude!
My Japanese is rudimentry at best.
Yeah that whole counting forward (shi) and backward (yon) thing is also confuzzling.

Anyone else gotten the rv-6? I tested it for a bit at a shop today. It's pretty good.

It has been a while since I played/owned an RV-5 but the 6 sounded really good. I don't care for the shimmer effect in general so I don't really care about that on the RV-6. The Plate sounded really good as did the room. I played on the Hall briefly and though the Modulate was still good.
I think someone else posted here that the Mod on the 6 isn't as pronounced as on the 5. This seemed to be the case but it was definitely still useful and sounded good.

The Modulate mode is the best-sounding one of the RV-5. It has a very nice and ambient vibe that I really like. Seems as if I need both models in future.

RV-5 Modulate is so good, pushes dirt like a boss too. Boss being someone in charge and the brand of the pedal.
I want another RV-3 at some point and a 6 not sure I could put em all on one board though,
unless the shimmer on the 6 can kill my supernatural

We (band) offered a rv-6 for the birthday of a band mate. It sounds good.

I really want to replace my RV3 with this or an RV5 and I really can't tell which would be more useful? I just need a compact end of chain reverb. I like the fact that this has shimmer and modulation though?

It also has the delay + reverb that your rv-3 has.

True, I actually use my RV3 at the front of the chain and would want this at the end so it's not a direct replacement, just in spirit. That would be useful though.

Resurrecting an older thread, but I'm looking for a reverb pedal and like the Super Spring Theory, Topanga, and RV-6. I know the RV-6 has other modes, but is its spring any good?
