I don't think so. I didn't like the headrush 2 when I had it...it was kind of boring to me. It was a pretty straight forward looper or delay which was nice but not really my thing. I do like the hold mode on the boss dd-6. Never thought I would say that but it is quick and loops fast.
Been running the Trogotronic 666 as my carrier into ringmods....turn the blend to half way, signal surrounded by glitch...kinda neat.
I think I may have made my CV switch work as a CV controlled tap tempo for things like the boss DD-5 or whatever. So I can take an lfo with random and have a random tap tempo without stepping on it. Or controlled by something like the volca beats trigger out so that you can glitch it by turning a knob. Going to get the DD-5 probably saturday or monday to test.
Can you use any LFO to do that or do you need a specific box to make the voltages work for tap tempo?
What I did was create a gate with transistor that switches a relay when a 5v CV trigger hits it (relay does nothing before 5v). A CV LFO hits 5v at the peaks (at least I think that is what happening, I can take a trs cable and just touch an led to it and watch it light up). So I run the cv-trg or lfo to the gate which moves the relay that works like a dpdt stomp switch (i hope, but I don't see why not...built more cabinets instead yesterday...it's built, just need to add jacks because I cut up my prototype trying to make it the switch for the dod fx94...which needs more work).
However, with the DSD-2/3 works with CV-trigger in so a CV LFO does trigger it (as will any "loud" audio signal like the Biloma or something, so I ran a parallel signal to trigger it and it worked).

So could I use something like the gate out on a 8 step program or a Korg SQ-1 to control the DD5..? Also I definitely need one of those DSD's

Yea, those should work I think (I have never used them though). I just controlled the dd-5 with the Copilot Broadcast and Korg Volca Beats (using tempo). I will put up a video and schems in a minute. I am going to build a footcontrol 555-timer trigger pulse thing to control it too. Mildly random delay times! I wish I had something more random than the Broadcast. Anyway, going to go get some stuff done, then be back to post more information.
Just adding that this little circuit could be used as a true-bypass effect loop, probably bypassing a rack or table top effect that has a footswitch plug, or pretty much anything that needs a switch.

Ok for reals....the copilot broadcast is controlling the tap tempo of the dd-5. Pretend the sunburnt arms are a goatkeeper, footpedal controlled LFO, sq-1 or something else like that to imagine the random delay time possibilities.

What do you mean? Like just let the switching sound of the memento drive the input of the DD-5 or to trigger the tap tempo?
If you meant trigger the tap tempo then no, it requires a switch like the bypass switch on a pedal. You could on a DSD-2 though (with a high output oscillator behind that).
I don't remember how loud the switching was on the memento so maybe it could drive the delays?

The little orange or red box in the bottom right corner is the relay. When it gets +5v from CV (or anything really) it triggers the switch which sets tap temp0. The switch can go way faster than a human can which is cool.
Also, I think I made it flange there for a second.
The relay is a DPDT so it could run a true bypass loop for choppy tremolo of everything (memento style but different implementation). Was also thinking of making it a splitter with a mixer so that it switches the signal path quickly for stutters of delay with trails (instead of being cut off and bypass). Two delays at different times stuttering between each other with their tap tempos being modulated by lfos?

I have a DSD-3 and tried it with the Goatkeeper 3 but I don't really understand it though.
With me it doesn't behave so unpredictable, it just sounds like the delay time is changing but no crazy modulation / pitch effects or something like that as you were describing some time ago.
I guess I'm doing it wrong, or what is it that you're doing exactly?

I was using the really harsh gate, volume, and envelope of the Biloma to give it somewhat random triggering. It gets loud enough to be close to a CV trigger signal. I split the signal off at the sick pitch king with the ring mod feeding the Biloma. Because a guitar signal is 1v or less usually, the triggering gets weird when boosted because only the peaks will trigger it (at or around 5v). Which is why next I am going to try and take one of those max voltage increaser chips to turn a guitar signal into a cv signal and hopefully not break something.
I'll make a video of the bleed over on the DSD-2 if you all don't mind hearing the same notes over and over again
Thanks man. I ran the DSD-2 into the amp as a separate signal (I was using the Beta Lead so I could run both channels separate in parallel).
DSD-2 is processing that contact mic thing I dropped but it is triggered by the biloma that is split via the sick pitch king. The other signal just goes straight to the amp (clean I guess). My guitar signal is only fed to the trigger and not through the input of the DSD. Basically, the DSD is a separate audio path just for samples. The glitchy, drone background noises are bleed over from the trigger input from the biloma on the normal, non-sampler modes (which create some interesting mod delay sounds when used when like a feedbacking stereo mod pedal is used and sweeps like a flanger or something). Don't know why that happens but it is cool.
