yeah. no. saw that. fuck Eventide. fuck Eventide hard. never buying anything of theirs again. i dunno how much money Apple paid them to keep their mobile version of the Control app only on their devices, but this thing is so fucking useless for me without a way to edit patches without a pc/laptop. dickbags.

and FUCK having to buy extra loot for an already expensive pedal. HAVE A DEVELOPER MAKE AN ANDROID VERSION. NOT THAT HARD.

....... but yeah. for a Boss pedal, the SY thingie DOES look neaticles.

See the reason I like the idea of this is that it allows you to control things externally. So after I spend the time to set up my pre-sets, which admittedly is fucking annoying via IOS or PC, I can control them the way I want without a damn DMC, which doesn't work right. At least in my experience they don't work right with Eventide. I had one, it worked terrible for the H9 and perfect for Strymons. I was tired of fucking with it. This is a cheaper and easier solution.

But at the same time, I don't get the Android thing. I even asked them about it at NAMM and they side stepped the question. Dicks. LOL

I never want to fuck with the app while I'm playing, as it's retarded, but having this on hand would be awesome. Especially the looper. That alone sells it for me!

The Boss pedal look legit as fuck. I want to try one bad, bad, bad. I may wait quite awhile though. Boss will drop the prices soon enough I'm sure or they will be second hand pick ups.

The Boss DD500 is amazing though, so they've really stepped up their game.

Right,
i'm sort of half over my flu now....and have developed a nasty chest infection, but this weekend I should be able to get stuck in to the SY300...
Any requests of synth sounds you'd like me to try tackle with it?

I don't know what an ILFesque demo is but I just uploaded me mucking about first time with the SY300

https://soundcloud.com/dermo/sy300-first-time

it's long, and probably boring, and me going totally over the top with assigning modulation to the CTL switches.

There are some digital clipping kinda sounds in the recording, not sure where they've come from as I didn't clip my recording at all.

Sounds like the modulation section is getting popped on at that point.

LOL , that's where I step on the second control switch - all oscillators are held, sawtooth modulation on filter cutoff of osc 1, sine modulation of pitch and amplitude on osc 2, and a different 8 step sequence on each oscillator. I realised afterwards the overarching sound is a yapping toy dog. :picard:

Sorry I don't do shredding! Just scratching the surface with this thing I'll post more amateur crap as and when.

The humor: somebody from Roland's A&R department needs to tell him that the various automation controls and envelope controls have been in a host of their stuff for ages now. :)
