I'm gonna post this in here, despite my wanting to start a new thread.
I figured this one is perfectly apt and shouldn't be allowed to die in the arse.

So, newer Ibanez RGs: I really like the look of a couple in the Iron Label series, particularly this one:

And this one: Image

But I've heard that while some specimens are exceptional value for the price point, others are not so well put together.
Anyone got any experience with them?
I'm generally in the camp of "a mid priced ibanez is still gonna kick arse" but these are Indo made and that is something to consider.
Some say just spend a little extra on a prestige RG and while I can't swing that high, this premium really floats my boat: Imagehttp://www.ibanez.com/products/eg_detai ... color=CL01
Anyone shredding Ibanez style?
My only gripe is no reverse headstock. Ibanez reverse stocks are sweet as.
But I can forgive that for mad grains and wizard necks.

I've only heard good stuff about their indo guitars. I'd say go for it.

I can't enjoy playing wizard necks anymore. Gotta have more meat on it. If they made a 1 pickup hard tail RG with a baseball bat neck I'd be down. Still, I really like playing my cheapo RG.

Yeah, I hear it's a japanese owned plant so it's a lot more reliable.
I'm sitting here noodling on my Korean Iceman right now and if they're anything like this I'd be happy.
I reckon you'd like the neck on this, actually. More of a 60s Les Paul feel, but still fast.
Yeah, that sounds rad.
They're doing 7 and 8 strings like that. They look really sexy but I think I'll stick with 6.

Was thinking of picking up an old RGR on thew used and cheap market at some point as well.

Mid level ibanez guitars rule if they're what you're into. No matter how nice they're made they have a really different feel because of their neck profiles. I'm not the biggest fan of their guitars anymore but they make the nicest feeling basses for under $700

Yeah, I love Ibanez. It's probably the only brand I'm loyal to.
I haven't bought a new guitar (or any guitar) in years now, though, so I'm just getting some ideas together.
This is a total "maybe if things go right for the next 6 months" kind of purchase, so I'm certainly not rushing into it.

I realised it will probably be a necessity if I'm going to do this post-hesher-funeral-devi thing I want to do.
So that's motivating.

Yeah, there's now way I'd buy an 8 string. I'd totally give up playing original music and just play Meshuggah covers all day. Probably lose my job and family too. Locked away in the rehearsal room just hitting that low f with a mountain of distortion.

Yep. Best to stick to sixers.

I'm totally going to steal your iceman too. Just so you know.

You should get one, they're rad and can be had pretty cheap now.
Not sure what the new ones are like but I have an 05 or so IC400 and it's pretty quality for the money.

You could tell your wife you're becoming a djentist?

Seemed relevant after 'djentist'

Relevancy noted.
I can't wear white t shirts.
As soon as I put them on sauces and condiments of every colour are somehow magnetised to my torso.

I could get a toupe for that sweeping fringe...

I would take a vanishing hairline over that light wafting of excrement and ash facial hair thing seven days a week.

All my white tee shirts came from ILFriends.

Yeah every now and again I end up with one and I wonder, "how did I let this happen again?"

My longest serving one has been my Om shirt with D'Andreas print, but it's more grey eggshell than white.
Still stains like a bitch.

Sweeping fringes=not shred.

Do you want the punk half of slayer or the metal half?

There is no slayer without both but if ai have to sew two entities together then so be it.
