People considering getting some eurorack modular to go with this thing should seriously start reading things and watching videos. You need to know how things work to decide what you want/need. Everyone's modular is different because everyone has different workflows and makes different music. There is not one type of module that everyone needs (though there are some that could be useful for most people).

Can anyone share some recordings or demos of guitars going through modules of these sorts?

That track is basically me fucking around with a Flight of Harmony Plague Bearer and Suit and Tie Guy Wavefolder running in parallel for distortion, and then into a Make Noise Erbe-Verb being modulated by a Wogglebug for the weird percussion-y shit in the background. By far my favorite patch I've ever concocted on the modular for guitar processing. Shit like that is now SO MUCH EASIER DAMN.

No, it helps a lot. The PT-JR analogy seems to be spot on. Now that I've got a computer incoming that can actually handle realtime recording properly, I will... probably break down and get one of these at some point. I hadn't actually read the thread, and now my wallet hates me.

See the above track specifically, but literally everything on my bandcamp extensively uses a Moog Guitar going into modular gear. [bandcamp]https://juggableoffense.bandcamp.com[/bandcamp]

The Fearless Coward used almost exclusively modular stuff for effects. There's about 35 seconds of Minifooger Drive and at the very end I kicked on a Mr. Black Supermoon for craziness. The two tracks that have the most interesting guitar patches are the one I already posted and Someday You Won't Look Away, which has the Make Noise ErbeVerb doing shimmer reverbs in parallel with a Make Noise Echophon.

For Live at SchwonkSoundStead, all of the reverbs and delays came from the modular. I used the Minifooger Drive for most of the distortion as well as a Pitchfork for suboctaves and a DL4 for looping. There's some C9 and DynaComp in there too.

Live at the Sanctuary used the least amount of modular gear on the guitar. I'd say half of the reverbs and all of the delays on the guitar came from the modular. There's a good deal of more subtle patching going on in this one, and I'd honestly need to sit down and listen to it more carefully to point to specific sections. The one section that sounds all spooky and John Carpenter-like has a guitar sound that came from the Afterneath going into at a bare minimum the Make Noise Erbe-Verb. Quite possibly also went through a frequency shifter and or phaser.

Although you can get similar results from delays these days, that freeze button though! Just imagine using a trigger sequencer (or clock and logic modules for those advanced peeps) to freeze your signal as you play. Or you could throw in a Doepfer A177-2 and use external foot switches.
