Otherwise, see if you can find a pick made out of a stupid material. Don't they always have those at NAMM? I don't use picks.jwar wrote:So what should I attempt to buy? I can't buy a bass as bad as I'd like to, but I could get away with a pedal. There will be so many builders there. Not sure if anyone will be selling their new wares, but who knows? I can ask on Sunday.Maybe give a few "favors", like the picture showed.

im surprised they havent even slipped a sneaky picture or anything yet

Probably get better recommendations after the show hits. Who knows what anyone will announce at the show? Otherwise I'd look for any small or limited runs. Maybe if EQD had a Zap Machine [always intrigued by that one] or if Big City goes and has anything rare-ish in their booth.jwar wrote:So what should I attempt to buy? For the price it would cost you may as well just buy two dedicated pedals and call it a day. Maybe a SansAmp of some sort for the bass, and whatevs you want for guitar. Speaking of, I also love my original SansAmp as a boost for guitar, and can tell you it sounds big gnar as a bass preamp through a quad of 6550's.BassIsBad wrote:I'd really like someone like Strymon to put out a really transparent OD/Distortion with a clean blend that sounds good on bass and guitar.

It'd probably be like $350ish, and there are plenty of super high end dirt pedals in that price range. Not saying I'd buy it, just saying it would be cool. The Mad Titan wrote:For the price it would cost you may as well just buy two dedicated pedals and call it a day. Truthfully I never really felt the need for a blend on any of my drive/fuzz pedals. Find one that makes the tone(s) I want, and Imma good2go.
Cool. I still stand by my SansAmp recommendation though. They can cover a lot of ground and sound good.BassIsBad wrote:It'd probably be like $350ish, and there are plenty of super high end dirt pedals in that price range. Well in that case, I'd be looking at folks who just seem like incredibly cool folks, as well as those who may be weighing costs to ship back and forth?jwar wrote:I'm planning on being a slut a NAMM. Going to whore myself out to all the booth operators.
No really I'll probably be the quietest guy in the building. Hahaha. Works fine too because I'm hanging with Douglas and he said he's quite the recluse. hahaha
Plus there's going to be parties and shit and I don't drink.
I was more looking at what company should I try and sweet talk out of something.Source Audio already told me they are not sure they will have anything for sale new, but that doesn't mean I can't hug them and try and get something.
