I could never pick a fave, but I've always thought there's a very consistent growth from album to album, never really a dip/regression.
Agree that the first half of the Argument is pretty flawless.
I'd put it on right now but I don't think I wanna go from The Dead to Fugazi. Maybe I'll put on Gun Club in between as a weird attempt to blend

They got some pretty fuzzy tones in places (Break solo, Recap Modotti leads).
I can agree that the first half of The Argument is really strong but then I listen to the second half and I can't fault it. 'Argument' is such a perfect finale to their career.

Great Cop is killer.
Smallpox Champion is probably still my favourite from that record. It didn't used to be. I heard it at a gig between bands blasted through the PA. It sounded monstrous. That groove at that volume just made me want to fight people. Those rolled R's on the chorus, man, Guy could just do stuff that would sound ridiculous if anyone else did it. What a jam.

Hahaha
Totally forgot I've used that line on two bosses, one when I quit by sticking my name tag on his forehead (guitar center).

Also I think my favorite part about Epic Problem is listening to it and realizing/thinking about just how differently they would have arranged that song at the start of their career.

Either Ian or Guy said in a bunch of interviews that they'd been sitting on that song for about a decade, so apparently they were thinking the same thing. They just couldn't get it to a place they were happy with, so it never made it onto a record until The Argument.

Pitchfork: Some of the songs are pretty old.
Picciotto: Yeah, it's a weird collection of songs. Some of the songs are reallyold. "Epic Problem" is probably ten years old.
Pitchfork: Is that really what the title refers to?
Picciotto: Yeah. Because assembling that song was an insane pain in the ass. In fact, for a long time, there was a moratorium on it. We weren't allowed to introduce the song in practice. If you brought the song back in, everyone would like, you know... we actually just weren't allowed to. It wasn't even allowed to be mentioned.
Pitchfork: How did it come back, then?
Picciotto: Well, there's parts people bring in and we all start laughing. There are probably four or five things that constantly get reintroduced and always elicit a lot of laughter, and that was one of them. But this time, for some reason, we just came up with a new idea for it. The whole verse for that song is different from what we had before, and then suddenly, the chorus. It's like Lego's. I mean, that's really the way that we work. We assemble stockpiles of parts and ideas and then we just kind of just keep clicking them together until something works. There's a song, "Full Disclosure," and there's a song, "Strangelight"; for a long time, they were the same song. But if you listen to the record, they don't sound anything alike. It's hard to imagine that they could ever have been linked, but for a long time they were.

7ish years ago I was home for Christmas break and had a lot of free time, so I listened to all Fugazi in chronological order while playing Brood War and WC3 DotA with some internet music bros. That was a good day.

In On The Kill Taker is the best one by far.
Unwound is a better band.

I would like to point out that I was alone in my Kill Taker love for SO LONG and now that has changed and I couldn't be happier.
Also the above post has a lie hidden in the NSFW tag.
