Can't use most amps Dirty Channels neither...
+1 - That's exactly the reason I pretty much solely use clean channels, or even better, non-master-volume tube amps. If it does have master volume, I leave it wide open and get dirt the hard way.
That's one of the reasons I love pedals for dirt (and everything else). We play a lot of gigs with a common backline, and as long as I can dial in a fairly decent clean tone I know the gig will sound passable to good regardless of the gear in question.

Compressors don't really have much a use for me conventionally. Only time I've ever used one was as a boost.
Always on effects also have little use for me outside of recording. Live playing, I never have an always on effect for a whole show. Always vary that shit.
I also can't use traditional chorus. Weird funky detuned chorus, yes. Cheesetastic 80's sounding shit, noooo.

Go forth and preach.

Compressors, Chorus, Tremolo, and "shimmer" reverbs or any of the "weird" reverb sounds.

Yeah. I want a trem with tap tempo.
I'm using the empress. It's rad. But I don't see the point of square wave without tap.
I really like what I've heard from the Catalinbread one. That's on my "to buy, someday" list.....

The Guyatone FL-3 mini pedal is awesome because of the resonance switch: only at 3 is it doing full jet plane. At one it's much more subtle and generally useful. Flanging became less of a novelty sound for me when I got that pedal.

Exactly! There's no fun in that.
So hang on, if I get a rat and turn the gain down, but run my FZ2 into it at full Satan, will that sound cool then?

If you turn it to max and run full Satan into it, it *has* to be better that way.

Yep. It kiils way too much low end. Also, anything that's allegedly transparent. I figure it's only lotsa high end and I don't like that.
