False.
Dot, block, 'zoid or GTFO.

We got an SG Special at work today. I played it and immediately wanted one. but I am a sucker for SGs. The coil splitting makes it a versatile beast though.

I tried the LP Classic with that boost switch at a store here.
I have no use for that switch.
The split coil sounded terrible compared to some PRS I've tried.
I really don't feel at ease playing a Gibson.
That inlay is very ugly.

Its really not that bad... its no worse than Esp/ltd putting the model name on the 12th fret

Meh, y'all are overreacting with that inlay.
IDGAF as long as it sounds good, which from what some of you have been saying, it does.
If the inlay is that big of a dealbreaker, cover it with duct tape. :P

Just FYI, I have a WD custom cut SGJ pickguard for sale, small 60's-style batwing with b/w/b/w/b 5-ply layering. Never been used, still has the plastic on it. I ended up returning my SGJ in favor of a Tweedy Sig I found used so now I have no need.
$25, half price y'all. A standard guard won't work due to addition of extra frets and smaller gap between pickups on the SGJ. Blows!
I'll post a pic and official b/s/t thread when I'm off work later.

I am happy about the 2014 line because I get a chance to buy a my-size guitar.
Normal people guitars feel like Guitar Hero controllers on me. The extended scale, oversized SG will likely fit me. Its basically a scaled back SG model of the Buckethead LP.
Wish I could buy a couple of them but them Gibsons ain't inexpensive. And there's also pedals to buy.
