Well, I don't live in Oslo, and my name is Bjørn, which is Norwegian for "bear".
You might be in to something.

We are still here, but we're sort of on hiatus and working reeeeeeeeally slowly, at the same time.
We are all very busy with other bands(me and the singer/bass player are in Yuma Sun, drummer busy with Hellish Outcast and Sagh and one of the other guitarists is busy with his pop-project, which I'm playing pedal steel and baritone for).
But we did a gig in May, supporting german band The Ocean Collective, and I have enough new material for a new record, but it is just finding the time to rehearse and recording. But ONE DAY there will be a new album from Solstorm.

Awesome! I like the stuff you do with Yuma Sun as well, but Solstorm hits a little closer to home. Like some of the solo stuff you've posted as well, definitely up for an iRerror/Ognoy jam.

Thanks! I did post a live-video that includes some "new"(not on the first album) tracks in the "post a link to your band"-thread in the ilovedoom-forum.
You could check that out while you, a very long time, for a new album.
I'm planning to do more solostuff as well in the future. Been lazy/busy the last couple of years. Time to update that soundcloud!

This thread is making me miss my old tabletop setup. I should be putting together something fun over the next couple months though.

That looks crazy insane fun resin. I've gotta see some clips of that! I never realized the kaoss pad was so big, always pictured it as kinda tiny-ish

Maybe that's it. Maybe it's because I've never actually seen one IRL. I should probably look at KPs more than I have, they look cool

Apologies for the weirdly edited picture. But sometimes I just love going crazy with those apps...
Anyway, this is what I rock on the table. The beatstep is controllong Nave on the iPad, and sending Midi Clock to sync the Volca Sample. Mic goes into the Timeline and then onward. I mostly do Electro with it, (maybe House ??) in a side project with the keyboarder from the band. But sometimes I go crazy and do weird shit on my own. Ethereal pads on the Ipad, heartbeat Bassdrum from the Sample and going crazy with delayed voice. Sounds like a shitty Bibio/Grouper sort of jam.

Came home yesterday and inspired by this thread I went to the basement and had a look around. Found a cool old box and two old TVs. Along with my two(three counting the one still in the Netherlands) practice amps I figured I can set up a pretty hectic basement tabletop rig. Only question that remains is what to do with the TVs? Don't want to spend to much money on the visuals, but having some stuff going would be sweet. Either just video samples, or if there is any cheap options for video synthesis? I've been looking at the critter and guitari video synth and it seems pretty cool and not too expensive, but I wanted to check in if anyone knew about other cheap options? Not opposed to DIYing

Film your own stuff, throw a bunch of effects and filters on it, be a boss
Water + oil based paint is fun to film and mangle. Filming TVs up close can be cool. Nature is always a hit. Visit old industrial neighborhoods. Ice. Cool textures out and about. Phone cameras are good enough these days, and lofi is okay. Buy a microscope and put weird things under the scope and film into it. Trippy
