Personally apart from being bombarded with pics and NPD threads, just the general constant posting gets irritating. Not just here but also on OSG too. Sometimes less can be more. Both places are beginning to feel more like an Uncle Grandfather Gear Blog more than an actual forum. I mean, almost 1000 posts in little over a month. Talk about verbal diarrhea!

And don't even get me started on the condescending replies when being called on this bullshit!!!

Well I was stupid enough to make the assumption that you were making a non-retarded response to what I had posted. Obviously I was wrong.

It's taken a while for me to get officially annoyed, but I am now. Ya got my attention. :thumb:
It's frustrating to have to deal with Bullshit--inconsequential things that takes me away from either 1) my family, or 2) Real, Actual, Work. Trying to--literally--feed and clothe my family is one of the things that puts forum issues into perspective for me.

I love ya guys! And what I have to say probably won't make ANY sides happy, but here are my unfiltered feelings on this molehill.

1) Uncle Grandfather - You may have trolled people here (I think you have), but I've seen you get trolled back at least as hard--sometimes without you initiating it at all. That makes it extra hard, as a moderator, to know what to do.

2) Uncle Grandfather - In almost 4 years...only twice before have I gotten so many requests for me to ban someone. And in that same time, there have only been about 4 users who anyone has asked me to ban. Think about that.

3) However, all the other instances where I've been asked to ban someone, they were actually breaking ILF's stated rules, and intentionally. Uncle Grandfather posting too many NPD threads doesn't equal banned for life. I can't ban UG for posting four NPDs in a week, anymore than I can ban someone for overusing a catchphrase.

4) If you have 3+ NPDs in one week, combine them in a single thread. Didn't think that needed to be a rule, but it's common sense. Don't flood the board so you look like you're bragging for attention. And tell us something about what you're posting.

5) Annoying, like good tone, is subjective.

6) I've seen instances where UG posted something totally in-bounds...and was immediately trolled. But UG--responding by trolling back (the multiple smiley responses in this thread) doesn't help you.

7) If you don't like someone, use the foe feature and ignore them. Seriously. I've had people get indignant when I tell them that. Why? That's what the feature is for!--non-bannable people who you still don't like. But it's always, No, I can't stand the idea that they're still out there! I want them publicly pantsed and banned forever! Seriously. Use the ignore feature.

8) Uncle Grandfather - I've seen people hint, then openly suggest, and then--breaking ILF's don't be an asshole rule--be a asshole to you...to get you to change your posting habits/style. I think you should take some of the suggestions. (And honestly, I haven't personally been annoyed until now, in this thread. But some people hang here more than me, and are less tolerant than me...and if you want to hang out here, then take the suggestions of the people who have hung out here longer than you. No one wants to be the newcomer at the party who is pissing everyone off...right?

9) To those who've been begging me to take action--I've thought a lot about this issue, I've talked to mods (and they're free to ban who they want, regardless of what I say here), and there are some differing opinions. But I'm not rushing in with guns blazing because I can't bring myself to get too bent out of shape about this. I've had people come through this forum who've threatened me--with lawsuits, injury, and death. Really. That puts things in perspective.

10) We have few rules, almost no one takes advantage of that. I let people upload images and gifs to my server space, almost no one takes advantage of that. I don't issue temp-bans for arguments, and generally let disagreements run their course. I try to let the forum self-police as much as possible, and I almost never take any action without first consulting mods and forum elders. But annoy me enough...I do have the nuclear codes, and if I have to take another 90 mins out of my day, like I just did, to deal with some Bullshit, I might use them.

I'm always happy to chat by email or PM, but I really, really don't have any more time to devote to this issue. So if you PM or email me about this, and I'm going to link you to ^ that response.
