Everybody seems to be shouting about the TA!FM, but I really didn't dig the sound much on the videos I found. And the footprint unfortunately is a bit big...
FWIW, I'm mostly anti-blend as well, but don't mind it on the B:assmaster because the fuzz is so grindy and cutting that the blend at anything less than 50% just brings a little fullness.
Of course, I also typically find myself using it without any blend on most of the time. But HYPOTHETICALLY I could maybe see myself using it in that context. Maybe.
Yeah, just because it has a clean blend, doesn't mean it has to be used. I'm in general a fan, but I've actually found myself using it less and less. Part of it has to do with using different amps and basses that seem to not need it as much. My favorite Muff clone on bass is the Hoof clone which of course doesn't have a blend and can be made more or less mid flat. I also really lke the Muff model on the Source Audio OFD. The threeband EQ makes it really easy to tweak and it has two modes of clean blend you can use, one where you can fuzz only certain frequencies (which you can vary) and one that acts as a more traditional blend. That said I'm using it unblended at the moment. FEA Labs Photon Fuzz was also extremly cool, still wish I had mine but I shipped it off to Russia, too bad they're not being made right now.
I really like the Hoof though, settled on it after owning a Supercollider, PPB, TFR, Musket and the Catalinbread Manx. All of them seemed to get lost with my band and I don't exactly play with the heaviest band either.

Earthquaker Devices Hoof fuzz, Blackout Effectors Musket, or my personal favorite that isn't going anywhere, the Fuzzhugger(fx) Bass Bloom.

I'll definitely check out the Hoof and Musket in a second time if the Thundaa and Diabolik don't convince me. The Musket seemed a little bit too wide though

That's why you do what I do and CRANK THAT TONE KNOB.
That way you can't hear the clean treble over the clank and grind.

I think the Dwarfcraft Eu Claire Thunder is a muff style, and it has a mids boost stomp switch. Also a feedback stomp. Take a look at that one.

but i'm perhaps looking at shtuff a bit different. this band and the last 2 or 3 projects i've worked on, i was the only stringy player human. so i get in a spot where i'm trying REALLY HARD to cover the bass range and some of the guitar range. so i can't stand pedals that don't let some clean through.
and i really dug on the Fuck OD, but it didn't have that light od grindy thing that the B3k just killlllllllls.

Mostly correct... The "mids boost" is a tone stack bypass, so you do get some more mids, but you also get a fairly different tone.
I've actually been enjoying the tone stack action in that circuit in my current duo. Less need to hit the "mids pocket" when it's just drums and my guitar/bass.
