Also, I received an update from Mark about the SC '71 I ordered a couple weeks back. He was apologizing for not meeting the shipment date, said it should go out in a few weeks, and offered refunds to anyone that was tired of waiting. That's def a step forward in his customer service skills. Updates are something I never received from him in the past.
I guess there's something to be said for setting the bar low the first time?

Zing.
I don't recall my experience with Mark. Being as it was the first booteek pedal I'd ever ordered direct I think it arrived quite a bit later than I would have normally expected, but I had no basis for comparison.
I guess I never realized that EBA had developed a bad rep. I got an inkling when he discontinued the SC; then brought it back; then discontinued it and peeps were like "publicity stunt" or whatever. I was a bit surprised when the Earthbound Audio name was retired and Acid Age came out. But it's all starting to come together.
Does that mean I can charge $600 for my SC?

That would be about ten times what I paid for mine. I love the flavor of the month phenomenon.

I had also received an update from Mark when he wasn't going to meet the end-of-September ship date, along with an offer to refund, but I opted to wait it out. He then said it would ship around Halloween which is pretty much when it when it went out. In all honesty I expected a long wait time but it turned out to be not so bad. YMMV.

My SC '71 shipped yesterday. I'll be comparing it to my Beast. Excited!

even though I plan on using multiple feedback loopers in my new setup in separate true bypass loopers, I still kinda want a beast. I mean, it's a BEAST!
this is my beast >

I got the standard Supercollider as I thought it might better suit my purposes, but in all honesty the sound clips for the '71 SC sound more refined to my ears.

Think the '71 is a little less gain and a little rougher around the edges. The standard and Beast rule tho, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

He's a part-time builder, and he's been hustling to keep up with his business from the very beginning. I have a Supecollider V.1, and that arrived weeks late. He built it on vero board because he ran out of circuit boards. I love mine!

do you guys think that the '71 is similar at all to any settings on the pharaoh? trying to justify having the 71' too with the SC. maybe a '71 beast!?

I'll let you know when my '71 arrives Monday or Tuesday but I've yet to find any muff clone that sounds like a Pharaoh honestly...

Truest thing in this tread. I feel we're the only people who sing the praises of the turbo rat. I will never part with mine.
Best rat variant I have tried by far.

Depends on what you mean by refined.
The Supercollider is 1,000% doom-in-a-box, but it's actually a very contained and mellow circuit in some ways.
Pro-tip: If you roll the gain back to about 9 o clock and boost the volume you can use it as a pretty gnar dark boost, too.

That pro-tip is solid. Was hard for me to finally dial gain back on the Beast but when I did the results were pretty stunning.
