I saw in one of their delays that they actually used some legit chips and not surface mount, but everything else was surface mounted. I'm not sure if I'll be able to find the picture again though

Educated guess, the Ana Echo, the V3205 they use isn't made in SMD so it would be a 14 Pin DIP sized chip.

You could replace it with a MN3205... or a BL3208 if you wanted to have less delay time for some reason.

You can still mod it. You just have to be all delicate-like. It's not THAT hard depending on what you're trying to do

Flanger arrived! The thing that surprised me most is HOW SMALL IT IS. Seriously. Also it sounds really legit nice. Why exactly have I never had a flanger before? It's like I'm in the Cure right now.

Got the Muff clone, Shimverb and Pitchfactor at work today. Haven't tried them yet, but have my travel board (sans guitar) at work so I could try out the shimverb with a contact mic shaker I've got.

Weird thing, but has anyone noticed that the Shimverb gets really warm while plugged into power? Not even on, just plugged in.

hmmm hope that's not something messed up. i thus far just have the reecho and eleclady, neither of them does that...

WTFaccessories kinda sucks. i ordered 3 pedals at once (ana echo, eleclady flanger & pure octave), they wrote me back with one being backordered, asked them to go ahead and ship the other two, thus far have only received one. wrote them again & they're very apologetic about it all but obviously they aren't too organized...

Yeah, my Shimverb gets kinda warm as well. Just warm, not hot though

I compared the Tremolo with the Demeter Tremolo of my buddy (somewhere it is stated that it is based on that one). The mooer is more fleixble but misses the trim pot for the volume adjustment. So the Demeter sounds more fat, lush and deep. The mooer still has a great sound on its own that is inspiring and is soundwise pretty near at the Demeter. Just has a volume drop (what is pretty normal - but you can't back it up with the tremolo itself).
Bias and depth knobs are nice but they should have added a volume trim pot instead of the depth knob (and kept this on max.).

I ordered now at WTF. So let's see how that will work out...

Shaking it, I heard something rattling around inside. I "voided the warranty" by unscrewing the bottom and was rewarded with a couple little balls of solder after more shaking. Interesting construction - they shove the PCB right against the top of the case and it's all Smd, not thru-hole, so there were no traces on the bottom. Surprised me to see so little circuitry for a digital pedal, but it must all be on the top next to the board-mounted pots.

My Micro Pog gets warm, think it's just the excess current drain and heat from the digital processing.

There's several PCBs stacked inside the pedals, pretty impressive design work really to get all this stuff in such tiny boxes.

It's kind of amazing that for $44, and in the package size of what used to be only a few boosts, you get a pedal that would've been at least $100 from a company like EHX, for the same features. Like, crazy future we live in.

Related: China-made stuff like this is cheap, but I am also kinda about buying this Mooer stuff in retrospect, and will continue to support boutique builders and custom builders.

How's the muff?

Its not as good as my Hoof (which I put the Shift knob to noon on to get back some mids, usually) but it is also a muff is a muff is a muff, with dat Scooped muff tone getting more fizzy as you turn up the pedal's tone knob. More bassy but less crunchy (flabby?) with the pedal's tone rolled down. Just less good sound through a proper tube amp like my Ampeg than the hoof can do.

Volume output on it is adequate, and it sounds fine as the main fuzz on my nano board that I take into work and play through the orange micro crush amp (which really doesn't have the speaker for any mids or low-end anyways)

I mean, I could've built my own Muff for $44 (or probably less) but it wouldn't have been this small. And I'd probably have spent some time on getting the sound right on the DIY version.

Otherwise, as far as cheap fuzzes go, it's not bad at all. I haven't heard the Behringer muff clone but I'm sure it is similar, but the mooer way tinier.

Makes me realize that you could actually put one of these in a guitar. Like, in a telecaster control area. You'd just need to figure out power...
